Chorus:
'Cause I'm hungry for those good things, baby
Hungry through and through
I'm hungry for that sweet life, baby
With a real fine girl like you
Yes, I'm hungry for those good things, baby
Hungry through and through
Well, I'm hungry for that sweet life, baby
With a real fine girl like you

The 25 seconds following the 2:07point are the best 25 seconds in rock history. Stellar leads, driving rhythm section, soulful rock screams and ahh-ahh that make it an anthem. Highly underrated band.

The Beatles "hit" the US in '64. PR+TR released "Hungry" in '66. Among other influences, McCartney's and Starr's steady rhythm, and the bass line in "Hungry," I knew I was a drummer. Got my set in '68. If you wish to know the difference between "kids" today and those in the mid-sixties, attitudinally, pick a top-ten song today, play it, then play "Hungry." Kids today often seem to come with a pre-broken heart.

Yep, yep, yep! That's the part you can't wait to hear, and then that outro....then you pick up the needle and play it again! They were one of only a handfull of bands at the time, that I actually spent my allowance money on buying their singles! I didn't buy their albums.....that remained reserved for The Beatles until their demise.....but I really dug this band! Used to watch them all the time on "Where The Action Is"!

As a small kid I remember hearing that heavy bass groove at 1:52, and thinking that was the coolest thing in the world. It was a pretty heavy groove for that era of music. I wasn't even in school yet, my older sister bought this album when it came out, and I used to listen to it a bunch.

Can't get any better for a US song during the day. Great song writers handing this song to a great band, recorded with instruments played by the great LA Wrecking Crew session musicians. And then, Mark Lindsay, one of the strongest and most compelling rock vocalists of his day. A three-minute masterpiece of rock.

Wrecking Crew only came in for Indian Reservation in 1969-70. That's all Raiders on Hungry. Phil Volk's original bass line, then recorded again one octave higher and then fuzz bass, which gave it that heavy driving bass. The Raiders played all over the Northwest and west prior to signing with Columbia in 1965. Wrecking Crew was responsible for many hit records, but not with this band until the original core members left(lead guitarist, bass, and drums)

First concert I went to was Paul Revere at the Olympic Auditorium in LA around 1969-70. Little Richard was the lead in for these guys. He got the crowd GOING and they started getting up on the stage until there wasn't room for LR and he was singing and dancing on the grand piano. It was just a temporary stage and the whole thing collapsed! That was it. End of the show. Never got to see the headliners, but what I did see was unreal for a kid in the 8th grade.

Now i can understand the song by reading the lyrics and not multitask like searching it up on my phone but then you tube don't do that mini pop up video on the right hand corner bottom of your phone because it's copyright and that's bs
