I’ve been a professional guitarist all my life. In my opinion, there are many guitarists who are just as good or better....technically. But I have not heard anyone who comes even close to Gary musically. Music is so much more than ‘look how fast I can play!’ Every note that this man played was PERFECT! He made that guitar (and all of us!) cry. You can’t teach someone to do that. That you have to born with. He was simply ......the best! RIP Gary.

I agree. But i think, Gary always was very underrated from a technical point of view. He could shred as good as any shredder back in the 80's. Check out "Gary Moore - Top 10 Shred Licks (Live 1984-95)"!

My heart has been sad ever since and I've been listening to him and the longer I listen to him. He was so incredible, it is so sad to lose someone that is so talented as him. very well said. and that is EXACTLY what music is: a language of human emotion and mood, transferred to the listener. countless emotions that can't be described in words, but experienced when listening to it. universal and without the need for interpretation, because it's directly connected to us. some understand it, and some don't. Gary Moore knew that he is telling a story without words, but with emotions in his playing.

Another thing about Gary: he takes the live versions of his already breathtakingly beautiful songs to another level. This intro just floors me; every note and improvisation is just perfect. I don’t have the words to describe just how amazing it is. Same with “The Loner” and “Empty Rooms” Live In Stockholm. Especially “The Loner” is out of this world, both the intro and the extended ending. I also love, love seeing Gary’s body language when he plays live. He is the music he plays. He also looks like a kid playing with his favorite toy. And he’s an exceptional singer. This live version showcases just how good he is. We miss you, Gary.

KINGA(UK) I'm in the USA. It's My understanding Gary didn't Tour here.( through comments read. I'll have to check that out to B sure) So, with that knowledge, that's why the Music Station's didn't Promote His Music. I just heard Him for the first time today!! Yes, Crazy B cuz I love Rock Blues yet, somehow missed Gary. I found Him By UTube recommended Him for My listening because I do listen to this type of Music often. I'm so sad to find out through the comments that Gary passed away. He had to be in His Prime Time of His life. His Life Time was cut much to short. I was blown away by My first Song I heard By Him. He was without a doubt a LEGEND & GENIUS Singer and Songwriter!! Absolutely the BEST!!! His Music touches My Soul so deeply!! I am going to continue to listen to everything I can By Gary Moore. I'm very sorry for all His Family n Friend's but also His Fans!! Talented beyond Anyone I have heard!! I'm bummed that when I get to the end that I have No more to look forward to. I'm going to have to do My research on Him to find out everything I can about this totally awesome Legend. May He R.I.P. ❤🎶❤🎶❤🎶

Bev welcome to the many fans of Gary Moore, the greatest guitarist ever. You will find his history on Wikipedia, with links to all the bands and collaborations Gary worked with in his too short life, starting at age 16 when he moved from Belfast to Dublin to join Skid Row. Lots of videos on KZbin, for us all to enjoy.

Cathy Wilde Thank You Cathy! I will listen to All I can get My mind wrapped around!! He is so Awesome! I got a tad of a small part of His life when He played for the group "Thin Lizzy" I'm familiar with them but He didn't really get to show His talent with them. So My search will continue. I appreciate Your Welcome! Gary's passing at age 58 was too Young!! I know those younger think 50 is old and I too use to think so Until I reached it. There's a New beginning of Life at 50!! It's renewed!! So Gary still had a lot more to give but sadly His body couldn't take the drinking. Such a shame for a guy with Talent that had He chosen to continue to play could have easily gone another 15-20 year's!! Such an amazing Artist with a beautiful Soul! ❤🎶❤🎶❤🎶🌌🌌⭐
