This little girl is doing so well for her age! 9:30 Even the dog was like "I can do that too!".

great stuff! I have an Ellie too (though she's an Eloise). Been trying to get her on her hands a little lately, have to get her to watch this one, her competitive nature will come out when she sees Elodie doing so well haha

Awesome!! I’ll let Elodie know she will love that

Really found those drills useful. 4 years of practice and still scared to leave the wall! That really helped. Thanks El & Paul. ❤

I just hurt my back so I will be out of practice for possibly 3 weeks…. that’s just a guess. But I just started practicing in hallway for first time thanks to you for the idea. I’m very excited to work on toe pulls and getting one step closer to achieving handstand.

Sorry to hear about your back. Rest up and you will back on your hands soon

Paul, you do a lot of chest to wall drills, but as a 61 year old with tight shoulders (constantly working on it) those drills don’t seem possible for those of us who are unable to balance without being in the over-balanced prone banana shape. Could you provide your thoughts on this issue please? Thanks for all the great information - always a thumbs up.
@PaulTwyman11 ай бұрын
Yes this is very common. Back to wall drills make up the majority of beginners programs partly because of this reason plus the confidence/conditioning needed to get into the position. It’s very important to find your personal (realistic) handstand line that you can currently work with, then pick drills that fit. The under balance Toe Pull drill can be worked back to wall. I’d also recommend working thoracic mobility, hanging etc daily

Could you tell me, please, how long one can do a handstand? I've watched several videos on this topic, but none of them touched on this issue. How long is it safe to be in this position? Is it in minutes or rather in seconds only? Is there an age limit for doing this exercise? Are there any contraindications? I only mean the version with leaning against the wall.
@PaulTwyman11 ай бұрын
The potential is for everyone to be able to hold a handstand for minutes at a time. A lot of people think it is a great form of exercise and helps posture, circulation, strength etc especially as we get older. But each individual needs to start at the right level for them and slowly increase the intensity/volume accordingly

I've heard you can do handstands everyday. Does that count when you are still pushing through progressions? Have you ever hurt your shoulders?
@ninja8flash74211 ай бұрын
Not sure if he will answer but yes you can but also you can definitely overdo it best advise is to listen to your body and build up volume slowly
@PaulTwyman11 ай бұрын
Yes I’ve been doing something for my handstand practice daily for over 10 years. Alternating between mobility, balance and strength. Like the other comment, listen to your body and start with low intensity and volume then slowly increase
