Thanks for another fantastic video Paul. These really are hypnotizing to watch. The journals where the bearings run on my uni cam crf450r have some galling where the bearings run but doesn't seem to effect operation. Bike has 330 hours.

Impressive stuff, this kind of damage fills me with fear - especially with rare bikes with no new heads around. Glad to see that a decent repair can be made if you have access to a machine shop.

Grazie

I would have broke out the TIG and filled the cam journal and then resized to cam bearing spec and would have done a fill on the cap also to align bore to size.

Such a dumb ass OEM design!! There's barely any surface area for the camshaft journal to ride on. Honda has been plagued by the "backwards oil filter" for decades, all the way back to the Honda ATC350X. It fits both ways, if you don't pay attention, the head starves of oil.
@OtisFlint3 ай бұрын
Surface area is drag. These are race engines from the factory, they are not intended to last. There are always trail bikes for guys who don't care about performance.

@arzyfauzy9670 grew up in the 60's riding 2 strokes. So yes we did work on them. Unless it had to be bored. Or the crank rod replaced. Now crank rods I do myself. Boring Not. LoL
