I am so, so sorry to hear that. I have a PDf of the "revised" game, the one that was supposedly redone after the famous Sartin-Mclennan review of the game, but in all honest it's not that much better. I just keep it out of sheer morbid curiosity, and I would only advise those with strong stomachs to read it.

Dude, not only did the guy in the first game try to pull one over the DM by bringing in a harem of ridiculously powerful NPCs, he also had the audacity to try to take over the campaign, which is one of the biggest cardinal sins in ttrpgs. Yeah, good thing he was dropped the first session, but also, this is why session zeros are so crucial. I could only imagine the horror he could have put the other players through if he had been allowed to stay. As for the second story, i mean, i have gotten really into some of my characters to the point that i have written and drawn, but never uploaded, fanfiction and fan art of them. But I dont think i have gotten quite THAT obsessed with a character. As far as backstory and all that, i still would write pages for a character i adore, but I would only write an abbreviated version for the DM (like family life/status, any quirks/hobbies, significant events, people they look up to/despise, etc.) as well as one or two pictures to try to make things more easier for the DM.

I've had people pick the knight background before, and decided their 3 retainers were more characters equal level to the party who leveled with the party and brought character sheets for them (complaining that if they couldn't play 4 characters at once then their background was useless) but this Pauly creep is far worse. How did he ever think this would be allowed? I'm just glad the DM didn't even try to allow it, honestly I would have been like "stop, no, ONE guy walks in ALONE" when he mentioned having a harem with him.

@@Zeromegas I know they don't have the 5e background bonuses in 4e, but it was the same premise, he wanted to bring a bunch of NPC's he controlled into the game and so did more than one player I've had in the past for 5e using the knight's background. The retainers in 5e are really just civilians who do simple tasks asked of them.

@@PaladinGear15 Yup, they are Buttlers, Maids, Coriers, Cooks and Page. Even the case if one of the can fight is Squire that is the Equivalent of a lvl 1 warrior that can die if an orc farts in their direction. 4-6 hps. It make more absurd how a lvl 1 jackass has a 7 tieflings 15 lvl on Rogues, those gals needs to me in epic adventures and not sucking the dick of a loser that they can kill him with a nomal attack with sneak attack. That player thinked that super friend with the DM to pull that BS to derail the game for shit and giggles.

@@firstnamelastname7244 Your retainers are total civilians, they'll help you into your armour, deliver a letter, carry some gear, saddle your horse, they aren't gonna help you slay a dragon as 5HP level 0s :p So yeah they won't do so.

I'm glad they handled the "Pimp" player quickly. Honestly, if someone pulled up to my table trying to pull dumb shit like that, I would just point to the door and tell them to have a good day. Smdh. Also, the girl in the second story sounds like she suffers from that condition where you fall in love with inanimate objects. I don't know what it's called, but it definitely seems to be the case there. To think you can go to art school just to nothing but draw one character is not exactly sane thinking.

Basically you need a masters degree in using Excel and spreadsheets in general with how many charts in it. When shadowrun or Call of Cthullu look at your system, ignoring every other aspect of the system, and go "Woah, ease up on the rules there buddy." You know you are doing something wrong.

That's... pretty accurate. They have bell curves for stats, illogical physical features rolls, and some really deranged ideas about mental health, sexuality, and so on. Also, the mechanics are seriously broken. You can very easily get subpar rolls, even more than in D&D's original "3d6 in order" rolls. And with those rolls, you can get biology that doesn't make sense. It's a vortex of madness that only fools would dare touch.
