I had enough mana to recast. If you have done it before the draw trigger was on the stack then that would have worked assuming I didn't have another land drop in hand or a way to draw another card.

Is there a few decks you guys would recommend to a group that are new to the format?

Clay here... Before recommending anything, I would want to know more information on the personal playstyles of the folks in the group. For example, I personally love Combo and Aggro decks. But if I hand one of my lists to a person who is naturally a Control or Midrange player, they won't be lost playing the deck, but it won't "feel good" to them. And I really want you guys to have a blast playing the format. So, what do we have in your pod? Two combo players, a Midrange, and an Aggro player? Let me know and we can go from there.

2 of us come from cedh I personally love midrange thrasios grinding for value and combo off. The other more experienced commander player loves combat. The last 2 people are relatively new to commander as a whole, and we just don't want to overwhelm them. One of them loves Red/Black and the other likes green.

Hey, sorry for the delay - life gets busy sometimes. So for Thrasios (grindy) correlates that also have combo, I would suggest both Adbel/x and Gretchen. Both decks have a certain inevitability that you may appreciate. Regarding Rakdos... You have Kardur as a true midrange deck, and Tor Wauki or Armix/Dargo as true control decks (these are really difficult to play, because your knowledge of opposing decks has to be perfect). Regarding Green, you have two schools of thought... Either "Big Dumb" or "paired with blue."

@@MortizmoJoe For red black, if that person like aristocrat, gut/agent is really cool, mono G works with drumhunter easily and owlbear shepherd! Bruenor is my favorite dumb combat that I can think of from the top of my head, ridiculous damage :P
