I've always loved Rampaging Baloths in land decks. It may not be incredibly broken, but it's just super satisfying playing 3 to 4 lands a turn and slamming out giant Beast tokens.
@Kurse_of_Kall4 жыл бұрын
I'd say in any Lands deck playing Gaea's Cradle it is suitably broken :P
@Kurse_of_Kall4 жыл бұрын
Hey Vince! Here's some card suggestions for you, or anyone else who is looking to build the deck: Note: I also don't play enough interaction. I know it would make the deck better, but more value pieces are just way more fun in my opinion. Walking Ballista: during combo turns becomes a win con with Gaea's Cradle and a ton of untap/replay effects. Even if you can't win on the spot, sometimes just good enough to shoot down your opponents' board. Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx: You have Gaea's Cradle, you have Growing Rites of Itlimoc, well this is your 3rd option for "busted land that taps for a billion mana". It's not quite as good as the first two since it doesn't count tokens, but on the right board state it can easily substitute the role that Cradle fills. Also a good budget option if you don't have $300 to drop on a land. Rapid Hybridization/Pongify: Additional creature removal, very cheap interaction. It's a more narrow Beast Within. What's nice about these is that while occasionally you might have to kill a problem creature of your opponent, they also work fine as additional ways to trigger world shaper. Oboro Breezecaller: One of the easiest ways to abuse a Gaea's Cradle, also just gives you additional lands to play for more landfall triggers. Insane value in this deck. Trade Routes: It's the above but slightly worse since it doesn't untap, however you can still bounce your Cradle multiple times a turn, with multiple Exploration effects it's another way to get more value. Uro, Titan of Nature's Wrath: We're already abusing the graveyard, this is just another way to do so, while also serving as a nice little landfall engine. Tempt With Discovery: Go find your Gaea's Cradle, and maybe a Field of the Dead or other utility lands too if your opponents get greedy! Maybe not the most powerful, but a very fun political tool. Khalni Gem: Great ramp in the early game, since it helps get Tatyova out earlier, and then fuels your land drops to get more draw triggers from her. Scute Swarm: Another amazing landfall token maker, while it only gives 1/1s, it also copies itself if you have 6 lands in play, (which you should for the majority of the game) meaning this gets out of hand VERY quickly. Very good synergy with Gaea's Cradle. Worth noting: once it starts making copies instead of 1/1 tokens, the copies COUNT FOR DEVOTION. This means that it's an abusable landfall effect with Nykthos. Roil Elemental: Basically another win con. People just love it when you take their things. With all of our Exploration effects we can steal multiple things a turn, and it goes crazy with scapeshift or a genesis wave. Retreat to Coralhelm: A useful card when we're trying to combo, the scrying lets us filter our draws to make sure we don't fizzle. The tap/untap creature ability is useful for value, and can also go infinite which I will talk about in a moment. Sakura-Tribe Scout, Skyshroud Ranger, Budoka Gardener, Llanowar Scout: all are creatures that tap to put a land into play from your hand. Additional Exploration effects that can be abused with Seedborne Muse? Yes please! Budoka Gardener can also function as a win con when it starts making x/x tokens equal to the lands you control. These also all go infinite with Retreat to Coralhelm and any repeatable bounce effect, (like Trade Routes) if you like infinites. Khalni Heart Expedition: Useful ramp, or it can be a nice way to stop a fizzle during a combo turn if you draw multiple non-lands in a row. Command Beacon: If your playgroup is anything like mine, Tatyova will get a lot of countermagic and removal directed her way. Command Beacon lets you get around having to pay a massive commander tax. While usually we can afford to pay with mana from a cradle or something, it's nice to have options. Lotus Vale: Basically an additional copy of Lotus Field. While it's not a Cradle or Nykthos, in a pinch you can use your untap/replay strategies to generate some extra mana, also serves as a sac outlet if you need one. Scavenger Grounds: We do like using our graveyard, but sometimes an opponent is doing something that needs to be dealt with, having an answer to graveyard degeneracy is never a bad thing in magic. Terrain Generator: Basically an explore effect on a land. Note that you should have a relatively high number of basics if you are playing this.

Tayova was one of the first decks I put together as well, just with a majority of cards I had from drafts and some packs, and over time I got a few cards to upgrade it. I really enjoy lands matters EDH decks because having payoffs for ramp and playing lands is just such a nice simple concept and you can find so many cards to synergize with the theme

My Tatyova deck goes a different route. Instead of sacrificing and recurring from the graveyard, I use Moonfolk from Kamigawa to return lands to my hand. Even if some of them are weak, I've found the Soritami Mirror Mage (return three lands to your hand, unsummon a creature to its owner hand) to be helpful in dodging removal, and Meloku the Clouded Mirror (return a land to your hand, create a 1/1 flying creature token) can win games by creating a large air force to attack with.

Tatyova is my favorite EDH deck of all time also. I find myself subbing out all the “beater” cards for more interaction and relying solely on Thassa and Jace to close a game out with a Skyshroud Ranger - Oboro - Retreat to Coralhelm combo. If the infinire draw is interrupted I have an Aetherflux Reservoir backup, powered by Alhamaret’s Archive. Fun stuff :) people groan when they see Tatyova come out of the box. Such good times

Stone-Seeder Hierophant does a good Amulet of Vigor impression for lands. It's a creature that lets you tap it to untap a land and untaps whenever a land enters play. So it is very killable and prefers Haste but it's sort of in between Amulet of Vigor and Lotus Cobra. More expensive mana wise but 20p.

I was surprised to not see a Prismatic Vista in the deck. You are playing what was it, 13 basics? Also, Walk the Aeons would be a great addition as you can take infinite extra turns with it, provided you have three or more land drops per turn, three islands on the battlefield, and one of the cards that lets you play lands from your graveyard. Mystic Sanctuary is a land I've found to be quite useful in my version of this deck, as you can get back a genesis wave, a cyclonic rift etc. and sac it to a constant mists/bounce it and play it again from your yard.

I love tatyova and I built one, too. I went for the deadeye navigator + peregrine drake combo, tutorable with defense of the heart or tooth and nail. With eternal witness and a cantrip in the bin I draw the entire deck and bounce everything with venser or make opponents draw infinite with blue zenith. I put big interactions like pact of negation, fow, fon, mana drain (which also helps me ramp in the early game). I don’t play Titania but I’d like to. I also don’t play risen reef and zuran orb. I play other rocks in the form of mana crypt, mana vault to make possible a t2 tatyova, fellwar Stone and the talisman. I really enjoy this strategy: making the most natural action in the game as valuable as possible. And that’s it. Ps: I’m from Italy and I enjoyed some italian cards you own (command tower is fantastic).

It was quite surprising to see that you don't have Amulet of Vigor in it tbh but then again I still didn't manage to put a Zuran Orb and Ramunap Excavator/Crucible of Worlds in my Lord Windgrace deck so I totally get it lol (it's strong enough for the games with my friends anyways so it's not urgent) Really digging the ways you bling out your deck and I'm kinda considering getting some foreign cards now, especially as they are often cheaper than English or German (I'm German) so it'd be win-win. And obviously I'm always a big fan of the Alter Sleeves, every couple matches I'll note a card that has been outstanding in that particular game and I'll treat it with a pretty sleeve eventually when the card has earned it :D

Bruh Mystic Sanctuary, City of Traitors, Ghostly Flicker = infinite Landfall triggers, infinite Cast triggers (Ætherflux Reservoir). Trade Routes + Bala Ged Recovery is super abusable. Throw in Crucible of worlds and a sac outlet for what’s that word? Shenanigans. I love Capsize as well. So in the same spirit and power of it may I present 🎁 Forbid (counterspell w/buyback). With all those Cards in hand at all times you will always have a counter up. Also Foil and Deprive are great ways to help abuse The Mystic Sanctuary.(it’s my MVPlayable Land) Just a few recommendations off the top my head

Is there a reason you don't run Retreat to Coralhelm with the Creatures that tap to put a land into play? Sakura Tribe Scout, Walking Atlas (There are three others). Each of these cards is great in Tatyova on their own but when together they can let you get as many land drops as you like in a turn- Drawing your whole deck with Tatyova (Winnning with your either Jace or Oracle).
