Thank you for putting this tribute together :). Pavel Bure was deserving of so much more than he received in his NHL career, much like Paul Kariya. While it's unfortunate that neither won a Stanley Cup, they are definitely champions at heart!

I love the mention of Odjick and Murray as line mates. those 2 tuff guys have cement hands and even with those as his wingers Bure was unstoppable, it was more of a protest to the league to stop the gooning of our superstar then a serious line, but Bure turned it in to a success. he handed Gino several goals, it was awesome.

One thing I have heard in why he and the Canucks management had such an issue, was because they negotiated a contract in which Bure believed to be in US dollars but was in fact in Canadian dollars. This is why all contracts are now based on US dollars, by rule of the NHL.

Ok this could be the reason why Bure won’t let ea sports use him in game. I always wondered why he didn’t sign the waiver and figured the NHL done him dirty but they put him in the hockey hall of fame so I figured he would soften but it’s still not the case.

Watching Pavel from day one in Vancouver felt like something special. It’s too bad business got really ugly and spilled into public feud. Fact is, it must have been exhilarating playing in such a hockey mad market, but lonely and isolating not being comfortable in the spotlight. All the worse that he could deal with it if it wasn’t for the shady business decisions. You can tell it hurt him most that fans were made to think he was he was just being selfish. I can totally see why it played out the way it did. But everything else was pure magic.

I’d like to know why Bure and Fedorov won’t sign the release agreement to ea sports so people can use them in the game. He must of gotten a raw deal when he retired from the nhl or something because they did put Bure in the hockey hall of fame!! Bure was my favourite player to watch in the 90’s along with Wayne Gretzky and I believe he would be up with ovi in most Nhl goals all time if he had stayed healthy!! Bure and Fedorov we’re both the best skaters with the puck I ever had the pleasure to watch all time until I seen mcGod skate!! McDavid will be in a leafs jersey within 3 years so get ready world as that will automatically make Austin Matthews and ovi’s new future record of goals all time be contested!!! If they stay healthy and Austin don’t leave TO for a more southern team closer to home!!!

@@KetaProductions when Linden was traded, it was like a king died the day after in Vancouver and how dark the future looked for the Canucks at that time after being so close only a few years ago. In the end Linden being traded got the Canucks Bertuzzi and McCabe which helped get the Sedins so at least Keenan got that trade right. Mike Keenan has a podcast where he tells stories from his career and he says that Messier got him that head coach/GM job in Vancouver.

Just saying if someone is playing you to the ground, you do something about it. What Bure did was excessive, but from his perspective, the end justified the means. Not saying it's right or wrong, just saying that's what happened!
