Nice work - I pretty much followed your procedure to install my drive. I would put down a small piece of plywood to kneel down on as you level out the sand. Also, rather than carry each brick from a pallet, which I assume your helper was doing, I put the pavers on a lift truck and rolled them to the install location. Hope this helps.

Interlock is different depending where you live. Here in canada we have to avoid the frost grade and level, digging deeper and alot of G’A (gravel) and alot of heavy tamping. Good job on the driveway lads!

You must always wet your base and use a diesel packer after the final grade will be the smaller ⛽ packer . You want at least 2 " of sand for final base. You must again wet the sand for proper grading of pipe placement this is a 👍 video..
@jennifer9528 Жыл бұрын
Once you put the sand down and screed it, I wouldn't walk on it or try to pack it with any kind if machine as the weight will displace the sand and make it all uneven. If done properly, screeding it already pushes the tiny granules in place which has the same effect as packing it; you don't need to try to pack it down any more. Dirt and gravel is a different story.
@crazyhandshands9028 Жыл бұрын

I like that pvc pipe to help level everything off. Does it get left in and covered up? I didn’t notice it being removed in the video. Any harm leaving them underneath?
@jennifer9528 Жыл бұрын
He removed the PVC from the sand before he began placing the stones on top. As he places the stones, he fills in the trenches made by the PVC with more sand and then flattens/smooths it out using the trowel. A clear example of this is at 10:34. PVC pipe won't withstand the pressure from the weight of the cars driving/parking over it. A crushed pipe could lead to a cracked stone. Always take it out and fill in with sand before placing the stones.

Amazing work, but what is the difference between using sand and limestone screening as bedding for the paver?
@tspfull Жыл бұрын
limestone screening holds on to water, promotes efflorescence and will void any manufacture warranty.

The prep work is the hard part everyone thinks paving is easy they are a nice block and a nice job. The only thing I would say is for every square meters is one ton of sand or grit just noticed you had quite a bit left over great job though

have a contractor that has a paver that lays down the asphalt, and while the paver is sitting in my driveway waiting for the rain to stop, I notice a layer of oil in the bed of the paver where the asphalt is going to be.
