PAVO25 1st Flight | So Smooth, You Won’t Need Stabilization

The 2.5 inch Cinewhoop segment is pretty competitive, but BetaFPV might have the drone to set itself apart from the crowd. The Pavo25 new design makes the drone more stable with center mounted electronics, more durable with PA12 plastic ducts, and easier to repair using only six mounting screws. Today we put the Pavo25 to the test to see if this really the smoothest cinematic drone.

Nice flying and the xlite footage is looking good without stabalization. I just clipped a rail gap and bounced my brand new Protek 25 into the pool last weekend. The vista and motors were ok, but I had to use my last spare aio to get it flying again. I really like flying it as well. I've been experimenting with the xlite (original, not v2) and gyroflow and have not had good results. I had better luck using the similarity mode stabilization in Resolve. If you find the secret sauce for stabilizing the xlite with gyroflow, it would make a great video. By the way, the diatone naked gopro mount holds the xlite nicely and will fit your mount. They are like $3 each at RDQ.

Thanks for the tips..I’ll look into the mount. I have not tried to stabilize the X-Lite footage as well. I am experimenting more and more with gyroflow for an upcoming video, but if i do figure it out, I might just make that video. Sorry to hear about the Protek 25 taking a dip in the pool.

@@OneManUnmanned one more quick comment. Are you a ham as well? Saw all the antennas. That's another hobby I dabble in, though I don't spend nearly as much time on it as I do FPV and mostly digital ft8 and js8call. I have gyroflow pretty dialed in now on the runcam 5 orange, but still haven't got it with the xlite. de KN4EBW.

Haha..Good eye and observation. My dad has been into HAM for decades. I'm just a byproduct of his hobby. We were just doing some maintenance and tuning on one of his Beam. He's NP2D, if you ever hear him in the radio.

@@OneManUnmanned I'll keep an ear out. He has an awesome antenna setup. I just have a single dipole type running from a tree to my roof and a 20W transceiver. It is fun and nice to have in hurricane territory though. But I spend a lot less time with it now that I've found FPV.

Yeah, this is mild to what he had in the past, but it's still capable. I think his setup is capable of pushing 1200watts, although he runs it much lower around the 300-500watt range.

noob here, I have the cetus fpv kit and planning on upgrading, if I buy the pavo25 caddx hd version will the goggles that came with the cetus kit work? or I should get the analog version of pavo25?

The goggles that came with the Cetus kit will not work with the Pavo25 HD. It will work with the Pavo25 Analog though.

Not really.. they average between $450-600 USD. DJI does have a sale on their V2 goggles(mid 400 dollars).

What slow rates you recommend for cinematic filming

I don’t have that much experience to give you a recommendation on rates, since I review drones in their stock/factory settings. I have found some decent videos by Mass Halvorsen and Albert Kim talking about Cinematic rates, I’ll leave them down below.
