THE FAMOUS DESK ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT WAS A THING! KINDA. It wasn't with a desk-gun because why tf would it be and it was in 1944 and not 1940. It was the July 20th plot, to kill Hitler. They stuck a bomb under his desk but because of the location of the bomb and the thickness of the desk, it failed to kill him. It was actually fairly important event in the course of WWII because Erwin Rommel, a fairly senior man in the German military, was involved and ultimately was forced to, shall we say, unsubscribe to Earth via cyanide. He was fairly well regarded in terms of military accomplishments though he had issues with long-term strategy. He had previously led Hitler's campaigns in North Africa and the loss of Rommel significantly damaged the German war effort. Fun fact: because he ultimately attempted to assassinate Hitler, he is still celebrated and well-regarded in some parts of Germany

The thing with antiques is that it’s supposed to be as “untouched” as possible. Any restoration, nag or polishing ruins the value of the item. If you have the date it was made, the artist/producer so they can trace it or have authentication to prove it is what you says it is (like if your grandmother knew a sculptor personally and they’ve made something for her that’s been passed to you, and because they knew each other the sculptor didn’t sign it, it’s worth nothing if you can’t prove it.) I really love the three of you together, such a good vibe. It would be so funny to see you three react to outsiders or extreme cheapskates together.

Cleaning the blood out is fair enough, but not filling in the bullet holes and repainting it - hell even replacing the busted out windows wasn't a good idea. The only reason the Bonny & Clyde vehicle is worth so much IS because it's still riddled with all the bullet holes.

Pawn shops have existed in the UK for nearly 200 years. People would go there then they needed cash urgently, and "pawn" their possessions, anything worth any value. You could pawn an item, get cash, but if you had money later, you could buy the item you pawned back (plus interest) or you would get more money if you pawned it and didn't want to buy it back.

@@lilyoliver174 It depends on where you live really. The US in general is fairly large so yeah there’s a bit of em but where I live there’s zero. If you go into a dense city there’s quite a few. In general they’re placed around where people who need the cash can get em. IE homeless and such. Depending on where you are a pawnshop may even sell stolen goods because that’s what’s sold to them.
