So, the reason Hoxton was so important was because he was the guy who once wore Houston's mask. Back before Hoxton got brought back, Houston had his name and essentially was an in-universe reason to justify his voice-actor not coming back. He was basically the second in command of the gang back in the day who got caught, and this was an opportunity created by the Dentist to get him back. He also has valuable information on a lead towards a rat within the gang. Houston wearing his old mask is why there's so much animosity between the two of them, especially since Hoxton had such a rough time in prison and felt replaced. His new mask is a distortion of his old one, reflecting how his face was injured in a prison acid attack, and his new proclivity towards duel-wielding now over his old love of sniper rifles.

The guy in the chicken mask is called “jacket” from a the game “hotline Miami” he’s a soldier who served his time at war and who single handly took down the Russian mafia on his own that’s why the guy in the chair was crapping his pants when he saw him! Jacket has a massive hatred for Russians since they dropped a nuke in San frasico killing his friend that and he used to work with a organization called “50 blessings” who basically were anti Russian and ordered its mebers to go out (mask included) to kill the mob in certain locations if not they would get killed! In the pay day universe things are vastly different from the main game though but he’s very fun to play as! XD

Payday has two sets of trailers. The live action ones, using the actors from the web series, and the game engine ones. The second one tends to be a bit more chaotic. One I highly recommend you watch is the Big Bank heist trailer. It shows the heist from a civilian’s perspective

Payday is basically a crime spree simulator and its story gets pretty strange towards the end which I think is for the better. The game itself is an FPS and its pretty much an arcade shooter where you play a heist with its own objectives and obstacles. The series of trailers you watch here revolves around Hoxton who is important because he was an original member of the team and they are loyal to each other. The mission right after they break him out is to head straight to FBI's headquarters to find out who ratted Hoxton out and later on you play a mission where you will take that person out. I would recommend checking out more of its story and lore though I wouldn't know where to start with that. The rest of the trailers are a mix of CGI and live-action and most of them focus on gameplay elements like new weapons.

Lore time: Hoxton was one of the original members of the payday clowns but was caught by the FBI after getting sold out by one of their contacts. Dallas(America mask) brought in his younger brother to fill the role, mask and the name Hoxton until the break out was staged. After that the new guy became Houston and Hoxton got his code name back. Also Dallas is the shot caller, they felt guilty about Hoxton’s imprisonment. I will say my favorite trailer for Payday 2 is the trailer for Rust, the biker. You should watch the character spotlight trailers for more on the newer gang members and their personalities

The reason Dallas doesn't accept the drug during the Dentist trailer is because the anesthesia used by dentists tends to act as a truth serum. He's worried that if he goes under, he might blow his cover.

Payday 2 is a great game, can't recommend it enough. The basic idea is that you and your crew rob banks and pull off heists while trying to survive the police force. You can either stealth your way through a heist, or go in guns blazing with tons of police surrounding you. You can outfit your heister with a selection of weapons, skills from a skill tree, and a mask(there are over 100 of them). Definitely try it out if you're interested.

Alr to explain the man in the rooster mask. He's called Jacket and he's from the game Hotline Miami. He basically took down the entire Russian Mafia's hierarchy by himself. He's considered a sociopath due to him being silent and showing very little remorse to his victims (also the fact that he has nightmares of people that wear rubber masks like him but we don't talk about that)

The Hoxton breakout trailer make me smile every time I see it. As the exterior shoots you can see it is my hometown of Stockholm, Sweden. Most likely all shoot in Stockholm and the masks make it so you can use standins for the cast.

What's funny about Giancarlo Esposito (the real name of the actor that plays the role of Gus Fring) is that he has an affinity of being the villain in whichever series or videogames you see. I mean literally, he's the bad guy in The Mandalorian (yes, that one series connected to the Star Wars lore), The Boys, Breaking Bad (obviously) and good ol' Far Cry 6. Quick edit : Man Ken, I have to agree with you, that little drill noise is amazingly annoying. If that thing's noise isn't annoying then I don't know what is. I highly recommend watching TheKknowley’s video series on the history of Payday. It goes really in-depth and starts from the ripe old year of 2011. With all the updates and DLC releases in the life of Payday 2 from 2013, there’s certainly plenty to look into.

So the Dentist (Played by Giancarlo Esposito) basically is a contractor with a lot connections and ties. From my understanding, if you saw the Big Bank Trailer which is not live action, the heist itself is supposedly a test to gauge the Crews capabilities. He mentioned the First world Bank, the bank itself has some significance as it was a large hit back in New York and one of if not the first hit of the core 4 group but dwarfed by the Benevolent Bank (Big Bank) in scale and risk. For clearing up any character confusion, the guy on his dental checkup is the same guy that wears the American Flag Clown mask, IE Dallas. Payday 3 explained what the name of the mask was when looking at the first game version of it, apparently being called "American Dream", which is incredibly fitting. The Hotline Miami one is a crossover with the game Hotline Miami, the latter had animal mask vigilantees taking out Russian Mobsters in an alternate Cold War Universe where it still rages on well into the late 80s and even the early 90s or at least the USSR was not down. It served as the connecting point for Hoxton Breakout as the "Commissar" has ties to a district attorney and they want Hoxton to go through a retrial through the DA. The trial was a farce hence why he hoxton was being transported. Speaking of characters, the rubber chicken mask guy is the SUPPOSED protagonist of Hotline Miami. He was given covertly a chicken mask through a package with a threatning letter after a code worded phone message about the delivery of some cookies and how the engridients (the message) should be read. It's the same guy supposedly. In Hoxton breakout, it plays out the same as in the trailer kind of, but like how Hoxton says that they aren't going to the safe house, his idea was to follow up by going to FBI because he suspects a rat sold him out and wants to know who. The Diamond is a cursed artifact, most definitely based on the Hope Diamond. It has a long bloodied thousand year old story behind it, including being in the possession of Adolf Hitler before he comitted suicide. Finally, the Golden Grin Casino is a big as hell casino with a weird Macguffin inside the Vault that I can't explain lest I spoil the lore, but it is a weird box dubbed the Dentists Loot. The Golden Grin is a huge undertaking both Stealth akin to Oceans Eleven and Loud. Afterwards, the Dentist basically vanishes, definitely and most definitely doesn't reappear.😅😅😅 That should be all, but if you want character background, the following is: Dallas is the Informal leader and therefore the face of the gang, the voice that stated someone (Wolf) was in Police custody is the true leader, Bain. A hacker and planner guy who also apparently had his own fair share of robberies pulled in similar scale as the gang, but with research, hacking and experience under his belt so he can on the fly update and relay info. All things considered, Bain is one of the most empathetic of the characters, being incredibly nice to the crew and caring for their well-being, but also chastising for civilian Bloodshed as it's not only a pain for his end, but he does have a moral code. The guy dislikes big corporactions heavily and overly rich CEOs to the point he kills them because of his view that they only have this vast wealth through ill gotten ways, a Robin hood perspective if you will. Also if you pick the wrong computer in one of the missions when looking for the vault area code, he will either decrease or erase loans, or make transfers have extra 0s. He literally helped random people even though he is searching for a code. Chains, the guy holding a Machine gun, has military background as is for all intents and purposes, the muscle of the group, taking most of the heat from the crew. Wolf, the drill guy, is basically a broken man driven to insanity after the 2008 crash where no matter how much he did morally right, he'd get screwed over at every single turn and seeing his family become homeless broke him. He is the technician and Handyman of the group, responsible to stay put. Houston, the guy getting dissed by Hoxton is the Brother of Dallas, previously called Hoxton as he took the mantle for a year as a replacement. He is a supposed professional infiltrator, but also like Hoxton (Possibly an allusion to the previous game's Hoxton being depicted as the Markman), he is seen as a marksman as well in situations where gunfights break out . Meanwhile Hoxton is an interesting case, he was born into a rich family, but he didn't like the idea of being dependant on them, so he made a name for himself in boxing and later, pulling heists off. These guys aren't the badguys per say, more akin to anti heroes and definitely more sane than the cops, I mean last thing I need is to kill civilians or surrendered officers because some crazy jackass with a taser stuck to his M4 decided a mild inconvinience is worth the innocent lives as you unwillingly and frantically spray bullets. And even the Commissioner of the FBI begrudgingly admits that the scores the gang pull out, in the case against other gangs, decreases crime, a big fish in small pond if you will as they don't pull capers off on small fry targets unless they need to climb back up the criminal ladder. Realistically they could stick with safe robbery targets, but in reality, they go for increasingly risky jobs, usually big companies.

Payyday has maintained itself through some pretty crazy drama through extending it's timeline as well as content and player stuff. To get a an actual perspective, you should watch Knowley's the Complete Story of Payday, which covers dev and player drama alike. (Let's just say Starbreeze is a very... colorful company. Which is pretty ironic considering what kind of game Payday is.) As a dev myself, not really sure I would have been able to work there at a higher management position and keep my sanity intact.

Loved that you guys got a chance to react to one of my favorite games on PC of all time! If you get the chance, and really liked Payday 2, you should react to Russianbadger's video of Payday 2. Couple of things to know: 1. Payday 2 is a co-op heist game with 4 players playing as the heisters in various types of robberies and criminal activity, both loud packed and stealthy. The 3rd video showed the four main characters: Dallas (you saw him in the first video communicating with the Dentist, and with the American Flagged Mask), Chains, Wolf (the crazed shotgun user with the knife kill you saw), and Houston or Hoxton. 2. Hoxton was caught and put in prison in Payday 1. In Payday 2, the Dentist is a client who hires the Payday 2 gang to offer some amazing heists in exchange for the information and help of releasing their friend Hoxton out of prison. Giancarlo Esposito is an amazing actor in this, but most of this in gameplay is just his voice acting. 3. There are various heisters, including Jacket, the chicken-masked criminal who is relevant to another game, Hotline Miami, and others that they had either permanently or temporarily received licensed permission, including John Wick, Bodhi (from Point Break), and for a limited time, Tony Montana AKA Scarface from....well, Scarface. All in all, its a nice change of pace in playing a first-person shooter that plays the role of criminals and not the actual "good guy" syndrome.

Payday franchise is a heist style game with story being mashup of protecting, robbing, and recruiting throughout the storyline as you got 4 player on your team. You can have stylish masks during your gameplay and seem to have loads of interesting layout of guns that can be customized in your favor. Also there is a lot of DLC content that being in the game. Like Sunset Miami is a game that crossover with the Payday universe that is connected in a universe style. With that said, there was hints of gameplay at last video with being “Protect the Boss”. Oh yeah, you can play as any gender, character, or etc by doing missions or expansions out there. It’s fun to play with co-op friends out there. 😁

My brother loves this game. The gameplay is not very flashy. Games good, personally it's not my thing but I wouldn't say it's a bad game, but it's literally like doing a heist. You pick a level with your group of friends and walk around staking out the place learning things and coming up with a plan with the homies. If you shoot, get caught doing something naughty, or when someone decides to hit the button (like literally a button on the controller not like an in the game world button) you pull out the mask and guns and perform the heist. You do what you need to do break a safe whatever, carry money to get away vehicle blah blah blah. You're then rewarded at the end of the level for performance, time, and extra bits and bobs like some levels penalize you for killing. All that gets subtracted from the amount of money you and your crew stole, then whatever is left is divided among you. You use that money, which you can save up to buy upgrades, better gadgets, cosmetics. It's a very very very good condensed picked up and play with the boiz game. I just don't play well with others. Especially my friends. I've always been the best gamer of my friends and it's like bro please for the love of God just listen to me I want to win and I get back huh what I was looking at girls on Instagram. Like goddammit Dan I hate you.

You blow the wall, escort him to the car, escort the car to the parking lot, find the room to lower the stop things. There is a bulldozer in that room (big dude with panzar armor) etc. The gameplay is just way more hectic and a lot more cops haha

Hotline Miami is a Crossover where the crew recruit a sleeper-agent-like (He's a good guy don't worry, he kill only Russian mafia and save people from them) name Jacket, he only communicate through a pre record tape player. Jacket main mask is the Rooster and he is one grim man with melee combat, as seen with the baseball bat. But one could also say he's very "creative" when it come to kill people with other type of "tools"

I think Hoxton got his face burnt in prison when he got caught and sent down. Fun Fact: Hoxton has a butler who is played by John Cleese who plays Control, the Handler of the crew of Raid: World War II and Control and Hoxton's butler (named Aldstone) are grandfather and grandson.

One of the dentist heists has you blowing up a casino floor and wedging in a giant laser drill called the bfd (take a guess what is means) and grabbing a mysterious box for him, we latter find out the dentist is 1 of three legendary kings (the other two being vlad and the elephant) and he planned to go under the white house and find a mysterious device to Reincarnate into the presidents body, the payday gang of course killed home and used the device on Bain instead and finish the greatest heist of all time.

So the green armoured enemy is called a bull dozer they used modified EOD armour and explosives are reslly effective against them some use machine guns or miniguns or shotguns and thiers variants like the skull dozer the medic dozer and the toughest the zeal dozer

I think it would be really cool if you were to watch the XCOM trailers, especially XCOM Enemy Unknown "last stand". Its a turn based strategy game series where you are the commander tasked with defending earth from an alien invasion. It is one of my all time favorite game series.

Fact: the White House is the last canon heist in payday 2,if you kidnapped the president like normal it will give you normal ending,if you break into the secret vault and kill the dentist,it unlock secret ending

i was gonna answer all your questions but most of them were already answered in the comments, i forgot how quickly you guys became popular, i remember back when i followed you guys at 30k and you guys didnt have alot of comments so i got to answer them but now those days are in the past. Anyways i realised no one actually explained why the crew can overpower cops. Well basically all these guys have some sort of experience with guns, some come from the military, some used to do the same thing at a young age and all that. In the game, depending on the difficulty you get easier/harder cops to deal with. Im guessing these were a little tougher cops considering they broke in a prison. While yea its not common for robbers to survive a wave of FBI agents but i guess they were lucky. I also have a question, by any chance do you guys ever play the games you react to? if not which 3 games would you want to try the most?
