Can you please do a video that describes the Niche Plug & Play model? I agree, focusing on a niche creates a better product over time with less effort to recreate, plus you learn the in's and out's of a particular niche and their customers. In fact, you could do a whole mini-series on this model. Thanks for this video and your insights, very cool!

I usually work while listening to a podcast. This is something I can't do while watching your videos. You capture my full attention, and I applaud you for that. You've got it!

Hey Payton, your channel is freakin' awesome. Thanks for all the great info. Question for you - let's say I'm targeting a business like HVAC or Plumbing and I have arranged a pricing model where I take a % of the revenue that I help generate for my client. A) How do I track the leads my funnel is delivering to the client? B) How do I track how much revenue my HVAC/Pluming client is billing their client (my lead)?

Another banger 🔥 I think when starting out we only think about selling a project for a one time transaction, and don't think about how we can best leverage the relationship we've built with existing clients, and offer more services or pricing models.

Great content! would you recommend a book or a course that explains the Niche Plug & Play model in depth?

The timing is great, thanks for highlighting what options designers have available. It’s interesting to see how much things have changed since I went from webmastering to consulting. Im back to the webmaster / seo role right now so the last two offers / packages are right up my alley. Time to roll up and re-sort reposition and restart

nothing wrong with going with the cheapest model, BUT it must be done correctly and with a thoughtful process. Walmart, IKEA, etc.

What’s the difference between Niche plug and play, lead gen, and pay to use.
@PaytonClarkSmith Жыл бұрын
Great question! Pay to use you are just renting out the use of the website with no promise of results. Lead gen, you are selling the Leads most likely for a commission. Niche plug and play, you are selling an entire system specific to only one niche. In a lot of ways, it is just a more specific and suped up version of the other two. But instead of selling a website or leads, you are providing a proven system
@umptee Жыл бұрын
@@PaytonClarkSmith Thanks. Pay to use is understood. But aren’t the remaining 2 both niches and selling a proven system to generate leads? Is the only difference commission based incentive vs revenue based?

He provides actionable advice for designers who are looking to choose the right business model. He emphasizes the importance of considering factors such as experience, workload, revenue potential, and difficulty. He also encourages viewers to think outside the box and consider less common business models, such as the lead gen model and the buy rank and sell model.Thanks!

I'm just starting out and I decided to go for the subscription model. But there is no set up fee and no contracts. I use templates to quickly edit to the bussines and get paid monthly witch includes hosting... maintenance.. updates and ada compliance widget. I dunno if this is the best way to go. We will see

DesignJoy is a scam and we only hear about him because influencers use his model as clickbait. When you break down the model to how many hours he has to work PLUS hourly rate paid for hours worked per deliverable plus no revisions PLUS we never see the development of his work. He's a scammer. And the fact that you made a video of when he got exposed a while ago and now you've done a 180 on him just for clicks. That's disappointing from you.
@S3XYEV Жыл бұрын
Payton, have you done a video on Subscriptions!?? 😅 I was JUST thinking of a subscription model myself! 👍 Rather than finishing projects and having to go out and get new clients every month, build their website for free, and they pay a monthly subscription, which includes the original build, their hosting, maintenance, assistance, perhaps a monthly Zoom call for all your clients, they can ask questions, etc. .......If you haven't done a video on this, it would make good one!! .....NO ONE is talking about this! ....Sure, it's not for everyone, like designers/developers charging BIG bucks to work on HUGE projects, but there's a lot of us out there that just want to fill the niche were clients need fairly simple websites, that can be put up for them very quickly, AND these clients do not have $2000, $4000, or even $800 to pay for a website. Plus, after setting up 10, 20......50 clients, the freelancer has a NICE monthly income! 🤯 .....It's even better than additional streams of income, such as SEO ....It's nearly passive, and then the freelancer can focus, say, on bigger projects, or other ideas ....but not having to worry about the typical ups and downs freelancers experience.
