Many girls grow up not seeing a good example of what a man should be. What is the point if the girl knows her deen and values of marriage but marries a narcissistic mama’s boy? Why should she have to fix him and be patient? Why are we not putting any effort in discipling these giant babies? Our conversations should revolve around how to raise a boy in the example of the prophet so that he can be a husband that knows how to lead his family right. It is important to also speak to girls because some have problematic ways of thinking and viewing marriage but the ways boys are being raised is a bigger issue especially in Arab and desi households. Ex: double standards in raising sons and daughters, boys given more leeway with curfew, boys not having the best father figures, lack of communication, etc

We tend to be more reflective and less reactive about these things. The “why do I have to change if I married a man-boy” isn’t Islamic or mature. Firstly, why does someone marry someone without looking into these things and often glossing over these problems due to seeking wealth and status. From our counselling services we see this happening on time and time again. Secondly, because as Muslims we still need to get to Jannah and therefore the faults of others doesn’t not mean we don’t have to take responsibility for our own lack of growth. Part of our own lack of growth is to do with how Allah (swa) judges women is on how women support their spouses. Only liberal frameworks that worship the individual push the “what’s in it for me” idea. Thirdly, this video is about women who are taking personal responsibility while seeing marriage and been for being a “libaas” as mentioned in the Quran for one’s spouse, just as there is a video of men critiquing themselves instead of point fingers at women about being emotionally present, supportive and just to one’s wife. kzbin.infoEG_uk8f507Q?si=6bGF2_Cpmpyr2Seh Please share a link where you have spoke as a woman to women about the MANY undeniable un-Islamic behaviours they show their husbands. After all, you are a muslim with social duties, this falls on all Muslims not just the people in the podcast, what have you done to educate young men and women in an institutional level and what have you studied to know you would be damaging these children with frameworks of critique you have uncritically adopted? We teach respect of women and masculinity and the same for women at various youth clubs that take place weekly for the community unpaid, for free. And we also teach this on a madrasah level and address unIslamic gender biases. Because surely, you aren’t deflecting responsibility by blaming men instead of being even handed as we have been in our podcasts. Men and women in this org act as siblings in faith and hold their selves accountable first and then advise and help others. Also please speak respectfully about men, firstly because we insist the same for women and second your dad and husband are men and hopefully not giant babies.

Can Shia and sunni get married? I assume not, although people have done that before, I just wanted to hear more perspectives on this matter.
