👍👍 glad I'm not the only onethinking like this. Just bought my first 6.7 (2020) Dumped the oil at 1k after letting her eat. (And she got a set of duratracs because the factory continentals suck) Did it again at 5k to get on a 5k(oil) and 10k (oil and fuel) schedule. Every 5k I rotate since the crew cab long beds REALLY like to scallop the shoulder treads of any aggressive tire. Every fall dump the drive line fluids to prepare for winter. Never had any issues with any one of my previous trucks with that schedule. To add to this, 3rd generation fleet mechanic, ford trucks and international junks. Wise words of the old guys, fluids are cheap, hard parts ain't.
@rider91953 жыл бұрын
Definitely a great schedule to go by. I believe if any truck is carrying large loads or towing loads daily the transfer case and rear diff should be serviced around 50-60k since it is cheap! Many people don't realize how cheap some fluid services even after doing them twice in 100k vs a major component failure because they didn't want to spend 500 bucks on some fluid services.

Great video. My 2013 closing in on 97k . I have always been on the 5k maintenance schedule. Have the new yellow coolant ordered and will change next week. Thanks for making the videos . My dad was a old Ford retiree , he told me that oil is the cheapest thing you can do for your vehicle.

Loved every minute of the vid. I would personally do the diffs at 50k and do the transfer case the same time as the trans simply because the transfer case is always spinning and doing work even if you're not if 4wd. And don't forget to be using those additives every fill up.

First of all great video!! After the halfway point of your video I realized that you were mainly focused on power train maintenance, but you also mentioned tire rotation and brakes. So, my questions are 1: When do you replace shocks and struts? and 2: Do you wait until you see wear problems with your tires or is there a recommended interval to have wheel alignment checked? and finally 3: Is there an interval when you should change power steering and brake fluid? (I own a 2023 6.7 HO F350 Crew Cab Lariat Ultimate w/ Tremor Package)

Great video! You need to beat this into the powerstroke owners heads. They pony up 10 k extra for the engine over a great running 6.2L,just to cheap out on filters and oil changes.Not sure why but most local powerstroke owners seem to think that they can go 10000 plus miles between oil changes? Same owners don’t change fuel filters until the truck loses power or eats a cp4. Noticed same with the 7.3/6.0 s they all need injectors due to stiction, which is caused by too long an oil change interval.

What do you think about this, keep in mind I’m going for better than what Ford recommends, but also I cannot afford overkill that would result in two things huge cost and then also a lot of downtime. I am at 1,400 miles now. My first oil change will be at 2K. And then like clockwork every 5K after that I also will grease front and rotate tires, I already purchased the new Motorcraft oil filter and I purchased Motorcraft 5W40 full synthetic. I’m going to use Motorcraft fuel filters, both top rail and bottom rail. I will change them every 10k. I have a 48 gallon fuel tank. It’s an F350 crew cab long bed I literally left the dealership stopped in tractor supply picked up hot shot. Secret EDT added 3 ounces to the full fuel tank provided by Ford. I religiously stick to the no less than 1/4 of a tank rule. I never let it run lower than that. I only use chevron mainly because I have a fuel card for it. (Small business owner, contractor)

Lost me on the coolant. Guess I’ve never had any crap in my coolant. If I had, perhaps I’d understand the 30k interval. Maintain mine with an open checkbook. Oil at 5-6k. Whatever gets it into the barn on a Saturday night. Rear diff every 50k. Trans every 50 k. Front diff at 100k. Fuel filter every 25k. Maybe I just get good fuel. I drain my WIF at oil change. Collect 1Q in a mason jar. Never had more than a couple drops of water in the jar after settling. Hell, that could be from fueling in the rain& snow, or snow/ice in the tip at the station. Most of the time zip/nada. Always high volume stations/commercial fuel locations. Air filter typically 35k ish. Never wait until the indicator says change. I change it as soon as the monitor moves. What about flushing brake fluid. 100k or 3yrs for me. Towing moderate loads (7-10k) 25% of the miles. Don’t forget that cabin filter.

This is great information. Did I hear you correctly to say that at 60 K I should replace both the transmission fluid AND transmission filter? Or just the tranny fluid? Thank you. 2019 F-450 Lariat.

Love your videos, super informative. I have a 2022 F-250 King Ranch. This is my first diesel so want it to last. If changing my oil at 5k reg or synthetic, does it make a difference? Also what about the crankcase filter, when to replace it? Keep these awesome videos coming brother. I purchased the Ford ESP package and learned today I only get 2 oil changes per year, wondering if I should get a refund and just pay for service as I go? Thanks

When should you service brake fluid and power steering fluid? I haven’t checked the Ford maintenance schedule for those yet

I am debating between a 6.2 L gas or a 6.7 liter powerstroke I really want the power stroke budget is the only thing that would keep me from getting a powerstroke I love this video because I've never on Daddy so however I would greatly appreciate a breakdown of what I could expect to pay a mechanic and for the fluids to do these maintenance changes a breakdown of what each maintenance change would roughly cost me so I know I'm not getting ripped off please help

Disagree on the oil filter. Napa platinum is a superior filter. There is a video out there cutting open filters. Hard to believe whats in some including rust.

Thanks for all the information.will the Ford dealer take care of all of that? Under the warranty that we bought.
@PowerStrokeTechTalkwARod3 күн бұрын
4 dealers only gonna take care of warranty stuff. Fluid changes and what I was talking about is not covered under warranty

If you were to have read the comments you would have already seen that i told people the heater came on in the garage and there were people sleeping in the room in the house and I had to keep it down....
