PBTfans WOB vs GMK WOB

PBTFans WoB definitely sounds a bit deeper. I'm sure it's because it's made out of PBT while the GMK set is made out of ABS plastic. GMK usually has a higher pitch overall.

How do you like the texture of the PBTFans one? I just got it myself and it feels really weird like sandpaper to my hands, in comparison my old PBT Keycaps felt much cleaner. Maybe it will go away with time?

The texture is quite smooth for me honestly. I still use it on my beater board hence i use it a looot. The texture will smoothen overtime the more you use it as the most used keys will have some shine

@@SqueakyTypes Oh yeah I already notice a few keys shining a bit (not much but its different to less used keys), thats basically the dealbreaker for me, my old PBT keycaps didn't even shine after 2 years and these basically immediatly. I guess they are too smooth out of the box/texture too detailed, but my reason to get PBT was to avoid shine which was a big problem for me on my old keyboards (abs). Sadly I don't think they are any alternatives for completely black/white keycaps that won't shine with time and also have international layouts :/ At least the "sandpaper" feeling is gone on the more used caps.

How dark is the PBTfans set? Is it as DEEP BLACK as the GMK set? Cuz sets like domikey's WOB is more of a very dark grey rather than black

seems to be fine to me. i guess the main difference aside from material is that the legends are bolder on GMK

There are two things I like about GMK caps first is the font they use on the letters and the second is the amount of colors and themes they have. But aside from those two I like PBT caps more. I don't like the sound GMK caps have it's too high pitch and plasticky to my ears. It just boils down to me not liking keycaps made of ABS plastic lol

Interesting, it sounds kinda in between abs and pbt. There is a little bit of the chalky pbt sound but with that more lively abs sound.

It is likely because it's not made entirely of pbt but a blend of pbt and abs

After a long time into the hobby, you won't want to deal with the stickiness of GMK keycaps it just sticks to your fingers and makes typing horrible. Especially if you live in asia(humidity). Save the money, buy a better board and use PBT, thank me later.

I guess that's one way to see it. some still prefer ABS though. which is what is really nice from this hobby, each has their own preferences

@@SqueakyTypes I still prefer ABS over PBT for the sound it produces. I've tried PBTFans and Drop DCX ABS recently and boy.. they are more enjoyable to type on and sounds the same.

They sound 100% the same. The only way you'd be able to tell is if you used a sound spectrometer.

false, space bar is more deeper because it s pbt and in general pbt material produce a deeper sound for alphas
