In this video, I will show you all the information for PC Stats Displays from Turzx (Turing Smart Screens). There are three types of displays, and all come in both black and white colors. Rectangular 3.5", 5.0", and round 2.1". They connect to a USB port and show various PC statistics - all kinds of temperatures, memory usage, fan speeds, download speed, time and date, FPS, etc. They are easy to use and include a lot of nice themes, and if that´s not enough, you can customize an existing theme or create your own.

I found this video after the other comments you replied too :) Very helpful but I bought the 3.5.. realises it and ordered the 5 inch one as well so I got both coming but I will be using the 5inch and giving the 3.5 to a friend. The only thing I am not sure on is the cable length. I hope it’s long enough I got the software ready and then I’ll load and set them up. I’ve got an 8GB micro SD card to plug in. I will test how it effects FPS/ performance on my system when I get a chance on its arrival :) I love how you check the system and software. I’ve gone into my firewall and restricted the app from connecting to the internet completely so it’s local only. Just to be sure!

Thank you for your comment. I agree that the 5 inch is much better compared to the smaller one. That said, I´m sure your friend will still be very happy :) The cable is not so long, but you can use any other usb-C cable instead.

@@upir_upir I am going to try and see if I can setup the screen as a sim hub first… maybe? Unsure but be good to see. Just take a look a sim hub screen and you see it’s a usb screen so I will see. If not which I doubt then he can have it :)

Yes, it works with sim hub without any problems so when my 5” arrives they will be on monitoring and my 3.5” is being used with my wheel as a dial etc for racing and it works super easy being supported :)

You mean all those 3 screens from TurzX? They are from the same brand, just having different sizes and different shapes. There is no significant difference between having the cable connected to the display and having the cable separate. None of those screens can use AIDA64, they all use proprietary software.

Thank you, but for your case, you would probably need an external monitor. This one is purely for displaying statistics. Other option is to use the Python scripts, but those are for now only for the smaller screen. Anyway, good luck with your project!

Thank you! The FPS is present in the "normal" version for round display, and for the beta version for the 5inch display. I haven´t tested it yet though.

nice video. I wonder if the world animation is included in that program. I mean did you create the animation which world turns around or it's one of the theme? I would like to but either the 2.1 inch or 5 inch but could not decide which one is better for my system. I have a NZXT 52 water cooling system but the screen goes off. Thank you. Yes, that video is included. You can download the application and try it even without having the display. As for which one to get, both the round one and big one are very similar, it depends on which one fits your case better.

@@upir_upir Thanks for the info. I have NZXT Kraken X 52 and the round display freezes all the time. SOmetimes it does not light up and sometimes it lights up but freezes. The 2.1 round display is fine but expensive than 5 inch display. According to you which one is more usefull? I can stick the round display on nzxt pump but original size is 80 mm and the 21. has 74 mm. I can not decie which fits better. I have a large case. Which one you offer most? Thank you

Unfortunately, that´s not possible. This screen will only work with the provided software (Not AIDA64). It´s not a HDMI screen, but connected via USB-C connector, so it does not act as an external screen.

You are welcome. Yes, you can rotate all the displays. In the case of 5inch, you can rotate it by 0 or 180 degrees for both vertical and horizontall orientation. You can rotate the round one by 90° increments since the width is the same as height and there is no differentiation between vertical and horizontal layout.

Love these and the theme editors, especially for newbies. Are the touchscreen versions able to be programmed to function as trackers? Or what could you recommend please? Looking to create a simple tracker with touchscreen lcd (and possibly knob) where users would just tap an up/down button (logical or physical) to change the score/tracker. Thanks much!

Thank you for your comment. There are no touchscreen versions available as of right now, as those are meant to be installed inside the PC case, where you don´t touch those. What do you mean by "tracker"?

@@upir_upir thanks for the note back! Noticed Waveshare has several touch display modules on their site available (e.g., SKU: 24321). As for trackers, looking to build a simple score type of tracker where the output value is set by the end-user. For example - smart watches have a functionality to keep track of the number of glasses of water are consumed each day so the user would just interact with this tracker’s on-screen or buttons or knobs to increase the number of glasses consumed each time throughout the day. Very simple “tracking” system so wondering what all I can use to create something simple like this? Thanks again!

@cyberc0l0mbiana probably the simplest way how to do something like this is to use “intelligent” displays. The easiest one to use is Nextion, I have a few tutorials here on this channel. Usually you use those with other microcontroller like Arduino, but for this simple usage, the Nextion display alone should be sufficient. Just choose your preferred size and your should be good to go. Let me know if you have any questions and good luck with your project.

Also found the Lilygo T-Touch S3 Pro which is almost perfect as I wouldn’t have to figure out how to power it etc.. and it’d be quick for a prototype I need but doesn’t use a theme editor. Have you tried this particular device before? Wondering if knowledge of C++ or if any other coding/programming languages are required to make the best use for it as I need to hire a programmer to create a major project for me. Thank you again!

You cannot use AIDA64 with Turzx screens, those only work with the provided software. They are not true external screens, as they do not have the HDMI connection.

Probably not. You still need to send some graphical data to the display, and Arduino simply does not have enough power. You can get it working with other microcontrollers, like Raspberry PI - github.com/mathoudebine/turing-smart-screen-python

@@upir_upir I think issue with Arduino is more lack of a USB host port, not the data rate as the serial port speed is only 115200bps. Maybe an esp32s3 or rp2040 running Micropython perhaps?

It cannot act as a normal external display- you can only use it with a dedicated application, and that’s at least for now unfortunately only for PC. For the small display, there are some Python scripts for other OSes, but not for the bigger and the round one.

The only display tha you can use with Linux is the smallest one (3.5"), with Python scripts, not with the official software. The official software only supports Windows. Hope that was helpful.

If the display photo looks the same, it´s most likely the same display and you can use the software. I know that many times, the name "Turzx" is not listed, and sometime you might even find an information that it could be used with AIDA64. I guess the translation is not always right.

It´s not about the displays or the software, but also about how the system reports those data. It will never be 100% accurate, but I haven´t seen anything highly unusual.

That’s correct, you can use the software only with this particular screen. For external monitor, you need to use Aida64 or some other application.

It´s not included (at least it was not included in my order) with the 3.5inch screen. Let me know if that helps.

Friend, good morning!!! I have a 3.5 display similar to yours that is connected to the PC via a USB C cable. This week I bought an Acegeek watercooler that has a display with the temperature on the pump itself, however when installing the program to work the display the 3.5 screen remains white. I checked in the root of the driver that they are the same and I think that for this reason one cannot project the image (generally the 3.5" screen). The watercooler is connected to USB directly on the motherboard (like this round video screen) What can I do? Could you help me?

Those screens can only be used with the dedicated software that comes with the display. Someone created Python scripts for the smaller one, but not yet for the bigger ones. Another usage is that you can use it for playing video, in that case, you don´t need to use any software.

You can use it to store video files, either for displaying it on the background of the theme, or for using the displays as a very simple video player. In that case, it does not even have to be connected to PC. As for the file system, I believe it´s mentioned in the documentation when you download the software. I have used it for the round display, but that one has the SD card already populated.

Thank you for your comment. The screen quality is great for the small one, but the provided software is very limited compared to the bigger versions. You cannot play the background video and creating the themes is very limited - for example you can only set one font. Try watching my other videos about the Turzx screens to get a sense of what´s available. You can also download all the software and try it on your own before buying the displays. Hope that helps!

You can still use them the play video, and in that case, you don´t need that software, but obviously that usage is quite limiting. Another option is to use a third-party open source python scripts, but those are currently only for the small display, not for the big one or the round one. Hopefully someone will update those scripts for the other displays as well... otherwise, the display (display panel) quality is great.

I don´t think that is related to the display, but rather your PC configuration. It seems like (some) USB ports are still on after the shutdown - that might be intentional. Perhaps use a different USB port or try to configure it to turn off? I´m sure google will know more about that.

It´s never 100% safe to run software; no matter who the developer is, there is always a risk. That said, Google Drive runs a virus check on all the files, and it seems to be safe.

Not if that´s the HDMI screen. You need to have the 8.8 Turzx screen, that one only has the USB-C connection.

I am trying to find out how to play videos on this device, but I am having a hard time (round 2.1" device). I have gotten them to work in two ways. 1. Load as a background image. This works but you hvae to select a theme, and there is no blank theme. There is the text theme but I can't seem to edit it to remove the words Input Text. It would be nice if there were some actual instructions for this software. It's buggy, poorly documented and sparse. 2. Load in the Device section. This works but you cannot rotate the video. There is an "Album Flips 180" check box but it doesn't seem to do anything. I finally found that you have to rotate the GIF 90 degrees before you load it (if you want the cable facing down), so all of them need to be rotated before being saved to the internal memory depending on the orientation of the unit.. Fantastic hardware but the software is pretty bad. Really needs some refining.

Agree about the software being quite bad, expecially compared to hardware. I wish someone would release a third party software to controll those screens, that would be great.

Unfortunately not, the Turzx software is only compatible with Turzx screens, not with HDMI screens. For that, you would need something like the AIDA64.

@@upir_upir The message was cut off. But, I managed to run two screens, you have to open the program for screen 5.0 and then run screen 2.1 for both to work.

Yes, the round one and the big one. Only the smallest one cannot display animations.

You can always try to run some online anti-virus scan. I did it, and it found nothing. You cannot be obviously 100% sure, but I don´t think it´s a security issue. If you have the smallest display, there are some community-made python script that you can use, and you don´t need to use the provided software.

Unfortunately not. AIDA64 could be used with external screen, and this is not a proper external display, since it´s not connected via HDMI.

I don´t know if there is a proper name, but if you simply search for "motherboard to usb cable", you should find what you are looking for. Also, for Turzx displays, those cables are already included.

Are you running both of them in the admin mode? I.e. right click > run as administrator? I can run all of them at the same time without any problems.

Probably no. This display has a dedicated software and is not compatible with AIDA64. There are some Python scripts for the 3.5inch version, so it should be possible there, but not for the 5inch (yet).

That’s correct. Rar is a compressed folder similar to zip file. You need some application to extract it first, for example 7zip. It’s free.

You are welcome. Indeed you cannot play video on the 3.5” screen, but it’s not because it uses a different software. This is a limitation of the chip used in the screen, it’s simply not powerful enough to play videos.

The 5inch and round ones only work with Windows. For the small one, there are already some python scripts for other OS-es, including Raspberry PI. I don´t believe that ESP32 is powerful enough. That said, I would think that the other displays would be also supported with those python scripts sometime in the future..

This is not a standard HDMI external screen, but rather a module that you connect via USB. In theory, there is no reason why AIDA64 cannot support this screen, but it would have to be added from the developers.

WIth some utilities, you can convert GIF files into mp4 files. It´s also a good idea to resize the video to the size of the display to not waste any memory, but that´s not required. There are some free utilities like ffmpeg, but they are not very user friendly.

I have the 5" model with English software. It works good...when it works. Unfortunately at least twice a week when I turn on the computer the Turzx software will not load when Windows boots up and I have to reinstall it. Upon reinstalling, it works again. If anyone has a solution please hit me up.

There is a set of Python scripts for the smaller (3.5") version, that you can run pretty much on any OS - link in the description. Hopefully someone will also create something similar for the other screens, since hardware-wise, they are great. The software is most likely clean (after running all kinds of checks), but not the easiest one to use.

I believe the main advantage of this display is that it does most of the heavy lifting on its own - I.e., playing the background video, so it’s not taking your PCs resources. Both options have pros and cons.
