How To Setup Dual Monitors - 2025

Here's a quick tutorial on how to setup 1 monitor, 2 monitors, 3 monitors and so on. It's very simple and the main things needed are multiple monitors, the proper display connector or adapter, and a PC that has more than 1 display out.

I had two monitors on my last computer but I got this new tower and tried to set two monitors up and the mouse would not go from one to the other. I had to take the mouse and go off of the Right monitor all the way to the Right then the mouse would enter the Left monitor from the Left. Your trick of DRAGING one monitor to the other side WORKED GREAT!!!! THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME.

I think you can sometimes use the on board graphics from the Motherboard as well if you enable it from the BIOS software firmware. The onboard graphics card is disabled when you add an additional graphics card, but you can override it in the BIOS if you want to (more often than not).

So i found out how to duplicate monitors. Use the Windows key +R and it will show you 4 options to choose from.

straightforward content is SO refreshing! Might you help? I set up a touchscreen portable monitor and am having an issue with separating the touchscreen function from affecting the main monitor. As for the mouse, I can use it independently on each device, but when I try to use touchscreen with finger or pen tool, the mouse action is on both monitors. I'm a novice busy-minded Grandmammy and really will very much appreciate your assistance. Thank you in advance.😊 My tower is a refurb HP Elite Desk There are two display ports, no HDMI, therefore I am using display to HDMI for connection to each monitor. I have verified that drivers are up to date on any port I and employing. The portable monitor is a UPERFECT Y touchscreen model.

Thank you for explaining that only the lower hdmi port is connected to the graphics card! was my main issue the entire time as I kept trying to connect using my upper hdmi port. Such a silly mistake.....but so glad you explained it!

I have a portable monitor that I want to use as a second monitor for my gaming setup. The portable monitor has mini hdmi to regular hdmi but my pc only has DisplayPort and hdmi on the graphics card. And my main monitor is connected to the hdmi port on my pc. If I get an adapter, will the mini hdmi to DisplayPort adapter work with the portable monitor?

awsome video, one question: i only have one HDMI port on my graphic card and both my display have only hdmi ports, if i use an adapter HDMI to DP and connect it to my DP's graphic card input will it still work?

I purchased a cheap splitter on Ebay and it did exactly what you said (duplicate image). What splitters do you recommend that will do the job without paying a lot of money? Most splitters don't mention their capabilities online. What word(s) in the splitter specifications should we be looking for that will do the actual splitting of multiple screens? Thanks!

hey dude so im having trouble with my monitors they dont work unless i have one plugged in until windows boots up, then once im able to login to windows i can plug in the other one and it works perfectly fine. Main monitor Uses DP cable 240hz and 2nd 144hz hdmi

Only issue I’m running into is that certain videos games mess up the screens, it will either magnify everything on my desktop or completely f**ck my second screen. Would this possibly be because I’m using a 65inch QLED smart tv? Would I have less issues with a monitor made for computers. Any info would be appreciated on what I can do to avoid these issues.
