FAQ's:
Q: I cant switch between Legacy/CSM and UEFI or switching didn't help.
A: If you cannot switch the Legacy/UEFI settings in BIOS or if switching does not help, can you find any Repair or Recovery options in BIOS? If that fails to help as well, reinstall the Operating System.

If the install fails, then we have narrowed it down to most likely a bad HDD. I would then replace it and install to the new one.
Q: What if Windows does not install and keeps erroring out?
A: If Windows won't install correctly, then we know that the Hard Drive is bad. Replace it as seen here; • How To Replace Asus Co... . Then, install Windows onto the new one.
Q: Will changing those settings in BIOS erase any data?
A: Changing those settings in BIOS will not delete any data from your hard drive :)

Holey sheets! One year later and you’ve got me past a major boot loop event with the CME toggle! I’ve had this rig for years and have always encountered boot looping, but restarts have always caught - sometimes after a sweat inducing several tries, but never a full block. So, when this current loop never stopped, I assumed the ssd was finally toast. Anyways, thank you!

Wow! Thank you! At first I was unable to power it off at all I just had the screen with the little circle going around and around. But when I pressed on the power key and the delete key it worked for me! It turned itself off, then when it came up it said “press any key to skip checking disk.” Pressed a key and bingo it booted up!

Clock was wrong on new ASUS Vivobook which caused it to be stuck while loading. Updating time in bios fixed it. Thanks for the helpful video. P.S. holding down F2 and pressing the power button down is how to enter bios on those machines.

This worked for me, I had to turn my csm on, I couldn't select it at first but then I went to security, turn secure boot off, then boot again and go into bios, then I was able to turn it on and now my computer is finally past the black screen

My PC was on constant restart loop. Sometimes I saw it states “preparing automatic repair” but my screen just turns black. Then constantly restart again. I don’t get to see any blue screen or even load into my windows screen. But thanks to your guidance on changing the CSM/UEFI in Bios, my PC managed to load into the windows but in less than 5 minutes, my PC restarted itself again constantly. My laptop is dell and in legacy mode but not booting and loading at windows logo then after sometimes says "system needs to testart" then laptop restart and enter in automatic repair but nothing happening for long time after that laptop shows black screen and remain there untill I poweroff. When I tried to boot from bootable usb of windows 10 and windows 7 usb both separately then from windows 10 usb it load for long time on windows 10 logo and when boot from windows 7 usb windows setup file loads and stuck at mouse arrow at centre of scrren and nothing happen but same both usb works on another pc and loads setup. Thank so so much about the CSM. That actually helped. Now I just need to do repairing of windows and I think I am on good tracks. :D I even opened the PC and took out the SSD and inserted it back. And with the help of rebuilding damaged MBR I finally got back to a working windows. Christ, this took time (more than 4 hours). I am so glad for this video. Thank you so much. I will never touch the BIOS again. I initially did it for trying to fix Fn hotkeys. In other words, to not hold Fn key each time to enable a hotkey function (increase/decrease sound, brightness), but I suppose my model is too old for that (2016 may be too early for thee functions :P).

If none of these steps solved your boot loop issue, then the next step would be to try an reinstall Windows. That would erase all your data, yes :( If you want to get your data off, I recommend hooking it up to another working computer via external hard drive link, and trying to access it that way. If you cant, then it could be that the hard drive is bad and needs to be replaced. In that case, you would have to bring to a computer shop to try and get any data off

Howdy!! Thanks again for your help with my old Asus. It's still running...New question...New HP pavilion desktop. copying .aac audio recordings from my phone to the desktop. It copied a bunch then I got a message saying...can't read from the source file or disk. These types of files have already been copied to the desktop and some of these are actually duplicates so I cannot figure out why suddenly in the middle of copying same type files, it gives me this...on many of the files...Any ideas? thx

hey so this did not work for me but i'll comment what did! he got me to the right screen in the boot thing but i wasn't able to change the setting. it said the ACP thing and was just black. underneath it there were 4 boot options and 2 different ones for windows. i switched the windows ones so the #2 was my priority and it worked!

I had a problem brother. My laptop is a Lenovo Ideapad s130-14igm. It has a 14GB free total of 57 GB of memory in SSD. I wanted to separate this space by apply partition software. Then it restarts once and stuck on the boot option. I tried all your steps shown in this video. It doesn't work. Also, don't take reinstall of windows. What can I do brother?

Heya! You got me a little stuck here, initially I was stuck in this boot up loop, did everything step by step with you and was hoping I got my problem solved until I disabled UEFI, according to you it should either boot up properly or still be stuck in a loop. Unfortunately my laptop didn't do any of these things, it's stuck on black screen now:( Immediately I went to your other tutorial addressing this problem, checked my RAM, unplugged, plugged, still nothing I feel helpless I don't want to go to more invasive methods you've shown since I don't know if I don't mess up even more Please help!

@@PC_Monkey yeah i tried to install windows 11 and it happened and told me restart to install again and it stucked on 23 percent for 3 to 4 hrs and i shut down my pc afterward and when i turned on my pc it showed installation recovery which goes for hours afterward it showed changes unmade and then after some hours my pc turned on and after using sfc/scannow command it shows some files are corrupted and successfully repaired. And i shut down my pc .and when i turned my pc on it stuck on this preparing aromatic repair loop, Asus icon and half scanning icon ...i don' know what to do now ...please help
