Holey sheets! One year later and you’ve got me past a major boot loop event with the CME toggle! I’ve had this rig for years and have always encountered boot looping, but restarts have always caught - sometimes after a sweat inducing several tries, but never a full block. So, when this current loop never stopped, I assumed the ssd was finally toast. Anyways, thank you!

Clock was wrong on new ASUS Vivobook which caused it to be stuck while loading. Updating time in bios fixed it. Thanks for the helpful video. P.S. holding down F2 and pressing the power button down is how to enter bios on those machines.

Wow! Thank you! At first I was unable to power it off at all I just had the screen with the little circle going around and around. But when I pressed on the power key and the delete key it worked for me! It turned itself off, then when it came up it said “press any key to skip checking disk.” Pressed a key and bingo it booted up!

This worked for me, I had to turn my csm on, I couldn't select it at first but then I went to security, turn secure boot off, then boot again and go into bios, then I was able to turn it on and now my computer is finally past the black screen

My laptop is dell and in legacy mode but not booting and loading at windows logo then after sometimes says "system needs to testart" then laptop restart and enter in automatic repair but nothing happening for long time after that laptop shows black screen and remain there untill I poweroff. When I tried to boot from bootable usb of windows 10 and windows 7 usb both separately then from windows 10 usb it load for long time on windows 10 logo and when boot from windows 7 usb windows setup file loads and stuck at mouse arrow at centre of scrren and nothing happen but same both usb works on another pc and loads setup. Then I tried uabntu in trial mode from usb it works fine..whats the problem in laptop? Please reply

hey so this did not work for me but i'll comment what did! he got me to the right screen in the boot thing but i wasn't able to change the setting. it said the ACP thing and was just black. underneath it there were 4 boot options and 2 different ones for windows. i switched the windows ones so the #2 was my priority and it worked!

Thank so so much about the CSM. That actually helped. Now I just need to do repairing of windows and I think I am on good tracks. :D I even opened the PC and took out the SSD and inserted it back. And with the help of rebuilding damaged MBR I finally got back to a working windows. Christ, this took time (more than 4 hours). I am so glad for this video. Thank you so much. I will never touch the BIOS again. I initially did it for trying to fix Fn hotkeys. In other words, to not hold Fn key each time to enable a hotkey function (increase/decrease sound, brightness), but I suppose my model is too old for that (2016 may be too early for thee functions :P).

Hey! So I don't see any UEFI, CSM or legacy options. So, I tried pressing ESC key right after pressing the power button but all I get is a screen that says: "Please select boot device" and two options. 1. Windows Boot Manager. If I select this one, it will take me to the logo screen loading again and again. 2. Enter Setup. If I select it, it goes to the BIOS. Can you help me please?

Hey, so my problem is with bitlocker. I forgot to get the keys before installing drivers on my ASUS vivo book. It now shows the bitlocker screen and anything I do isn’t fixing it. Not even reset. It either takes me to enter bitlocker pass or just doesn’t do anything

My PC was on constant restart loop. Sometimes I saw it states “preparing automatic repair” but my screen just turns black. Then constantly restart again. I don’t get to see any blue screen or even load into my windows screen. But thanks to your guidance on changing the CSM/UEFI in Bios, my PC managed to load into the windows but in less than 5 minutes, my PC restarted itself again constantly. Now it’s black screen all over again.

So you can no longer access BIOS? Are you able to see anything on the screen when trying to start? Also, did anything happen before this issue appeared? Overheating, liquid spill, Windows update, etc?

Howdy!! Thanks again for your help with my old Asus. It's still running...New question...New HP pavilion desktop. copying .aac audio recordings from my phone to the desktop. It copied a bunch then I got a message saying...can't read from the source file or disk. These types of files have already been copied to the desktop and some of these are actually duplicates so I cannot figure out why suddenly in the middle of copying same type files, it gives me this...on many of the files...Any ideas? thx

If changing the settings in BIOS does not help or if you cannot manage to switch the settings, move on and try to reinstall Windows as seen here; kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z4enapmGf5aYn80​. You can create your own Install Media for free as seen here; kzbin.info/www/bejne/nZC4mZx-iMiUias​. If Windows won't install correctly, then we know that the Hard Drive is bad. Replace it as seen here; kzbin.info/www/bejne/qn_TZn6YpJ6ofsk​. Then, install Windows onto the new one.

Hello, under Boot Configuration, it says Launch CSM is already disabled when I first encountered it, however I cannot select it and enable it, only the Fast Boot can be enabled or disabled which is below it. What should I do?

If you cannot locate the options to switch between or if switching does not work, then skip that step and continue with the rest of the video :)

Hi I have an ADSUS X705M It's 20 months old. Just lately it has been failing to boot up. Typically i can press the on/off switch dozens and dozens of times then inexplicably it will boot up. If I 'restart' it , it's fine, if i switch it off, the problem starts all over again. Sometimes it remains 'dead' for a day or so and then it'll fire up. When it does I often have to reset the date and time and Windows occasionally asks ' do you want to complete the start up process'?? I have followed your advice re removing battery and attachments, pressing the on/off button for 60 seconds etc but to no avail. At the moment I am using it but I have to leave the power on 24 hrs, I daren't close the lid or that will shut it down. The battery seems fine and holds its charge. Any help would be appreciated. I only had two options which were fast boot and csm. Csm was disabled and fast boot enabled. So I switched them. And now after it booting up again it comes to a screen that says "repairing disk errors. This might take over an hour to complete." Its been on this screen for many hours now . I dont know what I should do next. Help please .

My laptop is kinda old it's ok if it's not solvable I just need my data so before I do the reinstall thing that u linked a video in description I wanted to ask 😅

If none of these steps solved your boot loop issue, then the next step would be to try an reinstall Windows. That would erase all your data, yes :( If you want to get your data off, I recommend hooking it up to another working computer via external hard drive link, and trying to access it that way. If you cant, then it could be that the hard drive is bad and needs to be replaced. In that case, you would have to bring to a computer shop to try and get any data off

Can't exit bios don't see legacy or uefi just keep getting this screen. My laptop only 6 months old. Please help. Says fast boot Delet boot option on other side said remove an existing boot option from the boot order. Is this what I should do. Only place I see efi ??? Thank you in advance

I have a weird problem. My notebook when booting up goes straight to bios but it shows the "load previous values" option. And if i try to save changes and exit, it keeps going in this loop. But if i discard changes and exit, it boots up to windows like there's nothing wrong. Any ideias?

Sir, I have this situation. I made a live USB of a linux distribution, to run it on Asus A42 laptop. Booting process was fine. The screen stuck when loading the live OS to the screen. Nothing appeared. I have checked the USB, it was fine on another laptop. Problem only on the Asus laptop. What to do?
