You are an inspiration to younger girls. Maybe to follow in your foot steps. Reach out of their comfort zone and do something BOLD. Onward. Be Smart / Safe

Arthur Jamison She really is a great role model for young girls. I can only wish my granddaughter gets bitten by the wilderness, adventure hiking bug. At nearly 17 she is a top student and fantastic soccer forward - which is pretty fabulous. However, (sigh) she's a complete ninny in the outdoors! Screams if a branch brushes her arm!!! I think my only hope is that she meet "Hot Adventure Guy." 😜😜

Great update! Your attitude is inspiring and just fun to see you deal with the challenges along the way and stay positive throughout. And yes, it's hard to just throw out 51 miles in a day and act like it's nothing....that's impressive! But so is 20 miles in a day!

I love Admiral's super chill personality. Holy crap 50+ mile day? Bravo! Great Q and A and I'm glad you appreciate the desert. Been in one area or another of S. CA desert for the last 20 years and I'm a water sign, lol. It grows on you though! Can't wait to see your Whitney day video.

Going off of your back pain it might be a good motivation for you to drop some pack weight, especially since you have to carry a bear can. In the Sierras I really didn’t need as much cold weather stuff as I though I would need. I carried this super warm down jacket and only used it as a pillow, I couldn’t wear it since it was too warm (it was more of a snow/winter jacket).

I wore short shorts, too. Ranger Panties. Add that to a t-shirt and I was always OK in the heat unless there was zero breeze. But there really wasn't a time when there was zero breezes. I never used my lightweight umbrella. Most people i knew covered up in the desert and got miserable in the heat. Thanks for the nice vids!

Follow-up Question: Is two breakfasts a breakfasti? hahahahah Cold oatmeal is like an oatmeal cookie and if you add powdered whole milk it's like cookies and milk (with higher protein and fat--YAY!). I assumed your nearsightedness was strong, obviously not (lucky, I cannot see the trail without mine), thanks for the glasses/contacts answer. btw, having Admiral on this for perspective was a good idea and love your shirt!

Thank you for this Q&A. On the cold soaking. I'm a day or overnight hiker. Lately I've found that stove cooking isn't necessary. Even for work now. I'll put oatmeal with dry fruit, sugar, cinnamon, rasins and water. At home maybe yogurt, (not on trail) it'delicious. The tortillas with tuna, summer sausage, mayo. It's so filling and gets you a long way. My concern is how to carry things that don't go bad. I dehydrate my own food. It helps but I don't have the thru hike experience of what to take. Thanks for the video.

Hey, I'm a huge fan! But, I would like to offer the friendliest little correction. On Instagram you said Whitney was the highest point in the continental US, but that would be Denali. Whitney is the highest in the contiguous US. Anyway, huge accomplishment either way! All the best!
@gregstritch97366 жыл бұрын
gee vee Denali is not actually in the continental United States. Or at least not in the contiguous 48. That’s likely what she meant.
