Yay, you're on trail! I've been checking wvery other day or so 😅 Ive been following one other channel hike up the PCT this season, "Hiking with the Codgers", theyre about a month or so ahead of you, but theyre taking a 4 week break, so who knows maybe youll catch up. But you have a good year for this hike! With such a high snow year, there shouldn't be too many days with long water carries (fingers crossed for you!), and the landscape is so much more green than usual! Im very excited to watch some CanCon on the PCT 😊 Go get!

How much was your pack when you started?

I never weighed my pack at any point in my pct journey so I can not say for sure. But I would guess at the start, with food and water it was probably around 40lbs.

@@WhereImAT-tg6wi that’s a good weight to shoot for. Definitely the less weight you have in your pack the better…. Without sacrificing comfort and safety. The trail will be your home for months on end, so you’ll want to be comfortable! When is your start date? If you don’t have to carry any “winter” items off the start that will help your pack weight. Last year the snow seemed never ending so I started the trail with a bunch of cold weather gear that I hadn’t planned on needing initially.
