I don't understand why they would omit the date on a GMT, especially when it's on the original watch, and the movement they are using has a date wheel! The lume and bracelet are also deal breakers. I'll wait for someone else to come out with a version before I pay $200 for a Pagani with so many glaring problems.

PD watches rarely have date wheels. It's obvious why, they can't get acceptable quality control on the wheel placement.

Exactly like you said, the only reason you'd get this is because there isn't an existing homage of this at the moment. Great watch, but too many drawbacks. Hopefully a v2 with improvements and a cheaper price will pop up soon.

The clasp is an easy fix (there are some great clasps on AE for less than a tenner), however the bracelet makes this watch a hard pass for me. Sometimes it feels that PD take 2 steps forward then 3 steps back - they have models out there that do not share the issues you have highlighted, so they can produce a better watch. I wonder if in the rush to get this model out before any other brand, some corners were cut in design and manufacture, Id love to see a V2 address the problems. Thanks for sharing your thoughts as always.

I think the price will drop in a year or so. For example, Pagani Design PD1717, at the beginning was quite an expensive watch (149$ according to old YT reviews). But currently it can be purchased in choice offers for around $70 (with taxes).

I’ve got one on my wrist right now! My bracelet is a bit better than yours as far as finishing goes. I can see a slight difference in color between the bracelet and the case but I have to be looking for it to notice it. I do think it is a bit overpriced, but I liked the look enough that I bought it anyway. I have more and less expensive watches but this one has become my favorite. Most of the negatives don’t bother me that much.

No way, it's worth $190! How are the other pagani design GMTs being sold for around $90 and this one $190... Does the NH34 deserve a $100 premium over the chinese pearl gmt...🤔 I think I'll wait for a more realistic price.

Wait for sale and get Steeldive Pepsi. Cheaper price even without sale, very good quality in general, nice comfortable jubilee, bezel turns in both directions, red ceramic insert, good lume. And chinese pearl sucks, better get 3 hander instead of that. I had Pagani with this movement. GMT hand doesn't jump like NH34, you have to carefully align it, but it is hard because it is jittery and moves when you push the crown. It had miyota stutter and loud rotor. Also poor accuracy around -10spd that I couldn't fix because caseback was screwed too hard to open.

Nice and beautiful watch. Albeit not much better than the usual Pagani watches. To me, Pagani is an almost optimal watch. Good looks, good quality and more than accptable pricing. Now, to me I buy a *homage* not a copy. Fine if Pagani chose to omit the date. Many people bitch about having date on the dial, now they're bitching about no date. Can't make all of them happy. Again, I accept it as an homage. It's not a clone, it's a homage. It is not meant to be 100% identical. I like the PD-1773 for the cute font. For that I prefer it over the Longines Spirit Chrono. Oh, and the lack of the HEV wart.

Its only beautiful because its a copy. They only omit the date aperture because they cant consistently get the date wheel to align.

@@bikeman123 I have more than one Pagani with date wheels. They all are well aligned. Date wheel alignment is a matter of the movement, not the case manufacturer..... And, which watch is not "inspired" by another watch?

A really nice looking watch from Pagani.......... But, I have now come to the conclusion that they just can't be bothered to improve their Lume. They've had a long time now, to do this but it's obvious that they don't care. For this money that watch should glow like a torch. If Steeldive and other "budget" companies can do it, then so could Pagani.

What is people's obsession with lume? I just don't understand the fascination; it's literally the least important part of a modern watch. I love there being no date; I'm aiming for the Longines Zulu Time but just wish they offered a no date version.

There’s just too many better options at this price point. You would absolutely have to love the original to buy this, and if you did love the original, why would you want a homage that disappoints you in so many aspects?
