I recently had my peacock mantis shrimp die, now I didn't have him for anywhere near as long as you had Bruce mind you, but it was still a horrible day. I can't imagine what you must be gone through during this time. I'm really sorry for your loss and I hope that the future has better things in store for you and your channel

You have given the little fella a considerable amount of affection and an exceptional living condition. Take good care of yourself in the following days, thank you for sharing

Thank you for taking the time to share this. Im trulu sorry for your loss. I may be stretching this a bit but i do believe based on what ive seen many species of peacock mantis shrimp as well as other smashers are close to sentient as any invertebrate can be. They have unique and distinct personalities and i loved watching bruce and will wait for yoyr next one. Good luck to you.

Ahhh I am so sorry. I know you must feel awful when you take such good care and love your pet so much . I hope after you have grieved you still get another Mantis they are so interesting I learned so much from you and look forward to more. Perhaps the last molt at his age was just too much for him. If he were a Macaque I could be more helpful. The monkey in the picture is Kenzo. I could tell you why he is a danger to the whole population of Macaques in SE Cambodia.

So sorry to hear about Burce's passing, I just discovered this channel a few days ago. :( Molting is indeed hell, and I lost my mantis, a Gonodactylus Smithii named 'Snips', much in the same manner. Like Bruce, he sealed his burrow and never came out again. I never had the heart to split apart the rock, in which he made his home, to look for the remains.

I'm guessing you are in North West UK from your accent, so have a look at Abyss in Stockport - they've had a couple of juveniles in each of the last few times I've been there. It's never good to lose your favourite tank friend, but overall the joy of keeping them far outweighs the painful times.

Thanks for the suggestion I'll check them out, they don't seem to be as rare as they used to be so I don't think it will take too long 🤞

Poor old Bruce. They always have Mantis Shrimps for sale in Abyss Aquatics in Stockport, just outside of Manchester, although I've never seen a Brucey-blue one in there (they're always the standard green Peacock) edit: I see someone else said the same thing below. I'm trying to decide whether to get one myself, but have only ever kept freshwater tropical

@@KungFuShrimp no problem my mate ... i guess i will take 971 subscriber number. do you only do marine?

Thanks for the sub! Yes just marines, I have a 4 foot mixed reef as well as Bruce's 2 foot cube.

@@KungFuShrimp Cool, could i ask a question? most marine tanks i see has some horrible blue lighting ... is that a tank health thing? i really dislike that hue/colour. is that something that can be changed on preference? i would be interested to try salt at sometime in the future
@KungFuShrimp Жыл бұрын
There is a trend in marines to run fairly blue lighting as it shows off corals colours but I am not a fan and tend to run a 'whiter' spectrum
@vasili1207 Жыл бұрын
could i suggest a cheap usb video endoscope that way you can poke the camera in the caves and check on your new shrimp
