Simplicity is always the best avenue. In my experience I have come to the same conclusion as you, only add to my rig if I actually need it when shooting weddings.

I love the clutch. My only beef is that it’s too small for being attached only to a cage or side handle. The buckle digs onto my hand.

I actually like the $10 SmallRig wrist strap for cages. It’s on all of my cages :)
