It really made me cry this morning. I thought I'm all alone in my emotional home of constant worries and anger. I have to build a new one... Bless to all you people.

Excellent post Ed the neurochemistry of handing our troubles off to A God who loves is will calm a troubled heart! 1Pe 5:6-7 (NLT) So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time he will lift you up in honor. Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.

One thing too that made me understand my father more was my compassion towards him because I knew he had a father who was an alcoholic too and he didn’t have a better childhood than I had, I knew he loved us but he didn’t know how to show it the right way and he didn’t experience it. So God showed me how to give my father grace despite who he was🙏🏼And he was my father no matter what ❤

That’s what I love about you Ed! You are not ashamed of your faith and how much you love God. Unlike other influencers who want to please everyone just to gain more followers. More power to you sir and I’ll continue to follow you.

Here’s an alternative perspective…I think that POSITIVE thought stacking works as a counterbalance to the compulsive negative thoughts. Mantras work this way, right? We provide our minds with thoughts that are pleasant, calming, and therefore, stress relieving. I also do it when I’m delighted by a new thought…positive thought stacking is a means of refreshment. Ps there’s nothing wrong with creatine. Great story, Ed, about the carpenters building your first big house.

Hey Ed, this was a great episode. I just left a high control religious group that was Christian, and I find myself super angry at God. For the last 40 years I wasted my life with a false cult-like religion. It’s been a year and a half since I left, and I’m not sure yet how to heal from it. It’s nice to hear someone who still has some faith.

Great insights on managing stress! Adding to the point about breaking the addiction to outcomes, a technique called 'fear-setting' by Tim Ferriss can be a game-changer. It involves outlining the worst-case scenarios in detail and finding ways to mitigate them, which can significantly reduce anxiety about the future.

The mistake of focusing on the outcome of seconds later reminds me of my army days in basic qualifying with your rifle hitting targets. Many of us would tend to looking at the target to see if you hit it as your squeezing the trigger and I would miss. I had to learn to fight the feeling to look away from the sights on my rifle. Same with hitting a baseball. Keep your eye on the ball, instead of looking to see if it was a home run too early!

When it comes to connecting with kids and other people, it doesnt happy. i like what you say about anchoring, it does help especially when my mind really wants change in the moment.
