bit of a funny tip I heard recently, it's helpful to poke fruit with a spoon instead of a knife to check if it's cooked through (because a knife pokes through almost everything with no resistance haha) loved the beautiful video!

Ooh that makes a lot of sense! Haha. Ill try that next time. Thanks! :D

Your place must have smelled so nice during, and after, the poaching and baking time. Nice addition with the rum and that little extra doesn't hurt lol

Haha right? And yes! It smelled like fall in the house :3

I’m having a super stressful day, the kind where you get so frustrated with things you can’t fix, that you want to rage cry in exasperation. As a baker and artist, this was so calming, it literally helped me forget my troubles for a while. Thanks. 🥧 I also love David Leibovitz’s tart recipe. My Kindle cookbook collection is getting ridiculous. P.S Two emoji that we need and don’t have: an orca emoji and a tart emoji.

Thanks! I would definitely love a tart and orca emoji! Haha

Pears are one of my favorite fruits and I love the texture of almond flour. I made this recipe yesterday and it turned out to be so much easier than I expected and it was absolutely delicious. Thank you!

the tart at the end with the 5 sliced pears looks like a starfish submerging itself in the sand :D I'd love to have this tart at a fancy cafe with a macchiato! do you think that mixing the flour in the hot butter toasted it a little like for a roux and added some slight complexity to the taste of the crust? I wonder what the rationale is behind that method...
@joshuacooksthendraws7 ай бұрын
Im not sure about the rationale behind it! Haha. But it was definitely tasty and simpler/easier to make. And yeah it does look like a starfish! A bit like a sand dollar as well :D
