This song was like my mantra for years when I was married but badly wanted to leave yet lacked courage. I'd listen to this song and cry every time. Now I've finally done it, I've left! And it doesn't reduce me to tears anymore. But the song is still very precious to me.

Monique den Ouden pearl jam has got me through some very hard times... The only bad that just hearing a song can bring me to tears... N it's not a bad thing... Sometimes it's OK n necessary to just grieve to b sad... To FEEL.. n face whatever it is ur facing or feeling... N pearl jam to me... Allows me to do that like no other band I know of.....

was my song when I moved to FL from MA. Crossing the memorial bridge in westside this song was on. Love it. saw it live in albany. thought he was talking to me.

I was in a similar situation, but with Black, once I left the relationship I was able to see PJ live and I thought I would crie my heart out listening to Black, like so many time before, but I didn´t, I only cry at Given to Fly because I was so happy I was there.

No more upset mornings No more trying evenings It's the American Dream I am disbelieving. When the gas in my tank feels like money in the bank I'm gonna blow it all this time, take me one last ride. The lights of the city, they only look good when I'm speeding I wanna leave em all behind me because this time I'm gone Gone, going for it all this time, gone. In the far off distance As my taillights fade No one to witness but they will someday Feel like a question is forming And the answers I will be what I could be Once I get out of this town. The lights of this city They've lost all of their feeling I wanna leave em all behind me because this time I'm gone Gone, going for it all, this time I'm gone Nothing is everything I'll have it all If nothing is everything then I will have it all. I'm gone
