Watched a documentary on autotune. Apparently we'd all be shocked at how many recordings used autotune. Not in the way rappers used it as an effect but before that as a cleanup tool. Producers were pissed when it stopped being a secret. The Cher song ruined it for them, ha.

I always loved this song and felt such a connection to it. Dad disappeared for a few years in my young life. This song, to me, reflects the grappling of dealing with one's father's absence. So powerful and explains my connection to it.

I personally feel this song in every way, have been a fan of pj since ten...my dad committed suicide when was 3, i never gotnto know him and there were many noghts as a little kid i would ask him why? Why werent myself and my sister good enough reason for him to stick around...what was so scary and unmanageable that ending his life was a better alternative.

When his voice cracked there, it’s like exactly off the album. That’s how crazy this was. I usually hate when people do live shit before hearing the actual song but this was impressive

Wow. I was at this concert. It was just after their release of the album Ten. Thanks so much for this reaction. Love it. It's one of my most memorable concerts ever. It was at a small stage in a club called Melkweg, whitch means Milkyway. I was in heaven that night, for sure. Eddie did a crazy dive from the balcony into the crowd, whilst singing!, crowd "surfed" him back onto the stage. Absolutely legendary. But mainly cause of the impeccable singing and musicianship of the whole band. Love, Nancy from Amsterdam ✌💋

Thanks Nick for doing my request. The song is about how Eddie (the vocalist) is dealing with the loss of his father and how he feels he needs to be “released” by him to be able to move on with his life. This song is effectively a letter to him asking him to release him. Be worth you going back and re listen to the lyrics again so that you can really feel the power of the song and the performance, especially when he is belting. But thanks again for the reaction!

I love this song..."oh dear dad, can you see me now? I am myself, like you somehow" resonates with me. I lost my Dad almost 4 years ago and miss him every day!! I wanted this song for his funeral....but it was too heavy for such a shockingly sad time. But whenever this song plays, I stop and the tears roll, as I am myself, but like him somehow ❤

Can you teach me to sing? 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I don’t think there’s any hope too old now. I was able to lead the singing in a small country church back in the 90s. There’s one thing that I do know if you don’t use it you’ll lose it……well unless your natural voice gets there effortlessly. And there is such a thing even though they have to practice too. When you are within 10 feet of someone that can actually sang? It’s a wow moment for sure.

I love your reaction. I can highly recommend one of the most vocal dynamic example from soft gentle to all of a sudden soar over mountains is from a song by Rufus Wainwright called "Go or Go Ahead" the air in this guys lungs and his phrasing is mind blowing. seriously if you like this you will love that. lol that sounded weird.

@iggles73

@Albert Casper you just didn't listen enough of the albums, like u did the first 2-3. I guarantee if you listen to every album 2x a day for a week, you'll think no code might be better than ten. Vitalogy i sometimes think is. The avacado album is way better than VS. The only album i never got into was riot act. I could only of named 2-3 songs from the album. A few months ago i gave it a go, it's amazing, so different, but it's a top to bottom album. Just like every other one they've made. Their studio catalog is 165 songs deep. Every, single song is great. Great, great. There is no other band that can come close to saying that. Van Morrison. Tom waitts. Maybe the closest. Dave Matthew's band close. If the stones stopped in the mid 80s, they could of said it. Billy Joel close. Nirvana. U2. Zepp(stole too many songs). Blind melon. Cornell. Pearl jam, it's every song. They have a lot that didn't make the albums, they're all great. The covers they do are great. I'll tell you who comes really close, might surprise ya, kings of Leon. I haven't heard a bad song yet. Eminem. Cypress hill could of after their first 4 albums. Every song, every album of the first 4. I put PJs discography on, and hit shuffle, and i never have to skip s song.

4:29, you’re right. I watched a voice coach reaction video of Lara Fabian where the voice coach said the same thing. Where she was holding a very long ending note and moving her lives just lightly up and down. They say that singing is a movement, because were using air which moves, so it is very helpful to guide your voice when you are moving a part of your body whether it’s your arms or your lips or something like that. In order to keep a note steady.
