I knew Troy was a singer in a band prior to taking acting but little did I know that Ashley wanted to be an Astronaut and even lesser I knew that Neil inflicted the actor's personalities in their characters of Joel and Ellie. This just gave me chills. Its like a never ending list of all the hard work that has gone into developing a masterpiece of a game. @@itsasquid Of course there is valid criticism... But pacing "problems" is always a personal taste... I had some pacing problems until the moment I saw those so called "problems" a narrative necessity. At least for me... And I tend to say that this game has two moments of lazy writing, how Abby finds Joel/Tommy and Mel in the battlefront... But besides those two minor things this game is bullet proof from a narrative perspective. And that's why the hate is much more restrained these days, once a debate starts and people questions the "not so valid" criticism, they normally hide...

Geoff - "Hey Troy, can you go out and introduce Eddie Vedder for us? Simple and to the point." Troy - "In 1987 a Peruvian merchant brought forward four spirit crystals that forever changed my life. These organic, handcrafted spirit gems forever manipulated the psyche of those who encountered them. And while I can never truly touch upon the indelible impact these had on me, I'd like to think that their spirit resonated within me on the set of The Last of Us 2. As a method actor I frequen..oh, speaking of spirit, here is Eddie Vedder."

Lyrics If I ever were to lose you I'd surely lose myself Everything I have found dear I've not found by myself Try and sometimes you'll succeed To make this man of me All my stolen missing parts I've no need for anymore I believe And I believe 'cause I can see Our future days Days of you and me Back when I was feeling broken I focused on a prayer You came deep as any ocean Did something out there hear? All the complexities and games No one wins, but somehow, they're still played All the missing crooked hearts They may die, but in us they live on I believe And I believe 'cause I can see Our future days Days of you and me When hurricanes and cyclones raged When wind turned dirt to dust When floods they came or tides they raised Ever closer became us All the promises at sundown I've meant them like the rest All the demons used to come 'round I'm grateful now they've left So persistent in my ways Hey angel, I am here to stay No resistance, no alarms Please, this is just too good to be gone I believe And I believe 'cause I can see Our future days Days of you and me You and me Days of you and me

It's sad to read about how disrespectful was the chat back then, Eddie is a legend and the game is amazing. Luckily most of the toxicity has been diluted over time and the discourse around the game has changed a lot, the narrative about it splitting the fanbase in half was bullshit, it's just that the most toxic pieces of shit are always the loudest.
