I love Pearl. It is my favorite drum brand. I think walnut snare won the challenge.

Wow! That 5.5 inch maple drum is definitely a well rounded drum. Sounds big and beefy as well as James Brown poppin !

I'd pick the walnut if I could only pick one which surprised me as I would usually prefer a deeper drum. It really sounded great in all the tuning ranges. Visually, all four drums were stunning. Not a fan of Pearl but they did a great job on these drums. And I like when Tony "over plays"!

You guys have the best job in the world! As for the snares - walnut sounded best to my ear, but they are all great.

Great intro Shane!!! If I didn't have such an extensive craviotto collection....I'd definitely get a few of these.

A bit late, but the video mentions a couple of the models being 14x5.5 and they are actually 14x5. No biggie, just figured I’d mention it since I didn’t see anyone else comment. Nonetheless, just placed an order for the Walnut. That thing sounds phenomenal!

Hey, Shane, I noticed some typos on your website. If I go through and let you know what needs to be fixed, could ya give me a discount on a used drum kit? I'm not talking expensive kits. Mapex Storm or something?! I am a Proofreader as well as a drummer and Abstract painter. :-)

For years I had the Pearl 96 snare drum catalogue and used to drool over their 50th anniversary snare!! It had a single ply Keller shell with re-rings!! 16 years later I found one on ebay described as 9/10 condition!! I'd never been so exited to get a drum in my life!! When I got it out of it's box it was instantly obvious that the shell was way out of round!! It was untunable and unplayable!! What a disappointment!! In 40 years of drumming I've had dozens of drums from budget to high end and never had a shell go out of round!! Will never buy a steam bent snare again!!
