I'm here listening to this song this morning, because I lost my brother yesterday. He was a very good, strong family - oriented man, and all members of my family will miss him deeply. This is such a beautiful song to me, and it means a lot to me. I thank all members of Pearl Jam for writing such a wonderful song.

I could have written this too , lost my brother last year , one of a kind , kind man , true , loyal , hardworking …he chose to go but God I miss his laughter and conversation …. I imagine he said ( sang) these words this song before he left us . Pear Jam brings him back for awhile n my heart recalls him in this song too . Hope you’re still listening to this after 4 years ❤️❤

Riot Act album is sooooo underrated, i don't understand why that people dont like this awesome album. The whole album is incredible!! I remember buying Pearl jam's first album Ten as a junior in high school.... Obviously I was blown away and have been a fan ever since.... This song in particular brings out so much emotion. Eddie Vedder and Pearl jam will be a miracle for generations to come...

when i was younger i used to complain whenever my dad would play pearl jam. now i’m seeing them in concert in september . I really hope ed sings this, it’s one of my dads favorite songs by PJ, he’s been to 16/17 concerts and hasn’t heard it once, he loves this song because it reminds him of his childhood, so here is me hoping eddie will write this on that set list

A song released 2002 reminds your DAD of his CHILDHOOD. Exactly how old is your dad? I doesn´t sound like you are child anymore ("when I was young..."... If he was 10 when this song was released and had you when he was 20... you´d only be 11 years old writing this... can´t get the math to add up...

Thanks for capturing the best of Eddie's essence and profound deliverance of a lyrical understanding for those that are detached from normality and want to understand what it is humanity decided to accept as a conditioned normality. The thought always runs through the stop sign in a hurry to go nowhere when you are everywhere, but ....it's harder when you ignore the simplicity to read into the depth of the signs in front of you.
