(The comments didn't load and and I thought I'd be first. lol. Was pretty excited.) Point is though. Love the hair lately. And I want to thank you for basically showing me the importance of a goof riff, and just enjoying being a riff guy. What made me change from bass to guitar was the main riff for "Waking The Demon - Bullet For My Valentine" as well as all the shredding solos and I just fell in love. But as I'm honing my craft and writing my own music now, your "riff first, ask questions later" style has really appealed to me and helped me find MY style. From a fellow gear and riff junkie. You have been Fluff, and I have been "wonderful". Have a nice day!

Extremely cheap? Think again, my Harley Benton(rebranded JOYO) was less than $200 and has 8 loops, 2 trigger outs, midi out and even an option to use the 8 loops as 4 loops in front of the amp and 4 in the fx loop. A total of 32 programmable presets. Metal casing, sturdy switches and 3 year waranty. Couldn't be happier with it !
@hyperliteBo9 жыл бұрын
***** Yes it actually is good gear. So everything that isn't true bypass sucks? Then everything BOSS ever made is by your reasoning garbage. Btw, nice little story: Their was a brand Freekish Blues and they had a $200 boutique overdrive pedal called the Alpha Drive. Many boutique pedal enthusiasts loved it. Later they found out it was a scam and that Freeqish Blues repainted $30 JOYO pedals... I'm not saying the American Looper pedal is bad, I'm just pointing out it is in fact not super cheap.
@mathiasteixeira29179 жыл бұрын
***** Dude, have you tried any joyo pedals? For 30 bucks they are REALLY REALLY REALLY good pedals, and they are the same as harley benton as far as i'm concerned, I don't have any on my board cause I'm happy with it, but they are fine ass pedals
@mathiasteixeira29179 жыл бұрын
***** Aren't JOYOs and Harley Benton pedals made in the same factory? At least some of them are. Dude, I didn't say that his switching system was good, I haven't even tried it, I was just saying that JOYO builds some gnarly shit. I have a fultone OCD, the second version, and my buddy has a JOYO Ultimate drive, and guess what? It's pretty damn close. I have a NUX phaser with a relay based bypass system that you can find in some boutique pedals, better bypass than the one that comes in my ehx or my mxr's and guess what, it's an alright phaser, and it's waaaaaaay less expensive. Inexpensive gear is okay dude, a Joyo Ultimate Drive is 30 dolars, and it's a more than usable distortion. As I told you, it's close to an OCD, it's more compressed and higher gain, but I tell you, it sounds killer. So does the compressor, the flanger and the phaser. The digital delay is kinda shitty, the one that's two channels, it sounds good but I hate the functionality, for the price, JOYO pedals are killer. Not all gear that's inexpensive is inherently bad, remember that when you purchase an MXR or in a more extreme example, a Gibson, or a Fender (specially the mid rangey ones) you're paying a LOT of Trademark Marketing Value

+Baroch telma I wouldn't say that 'every' BOSS pedal is obsolete.... Yeah, they do have some they just need to kill off and get rid of, but some of their newer stuff is quite nice actually. I really like the DD-500, which has switchable TB and buffered mode, and I like some of their new pedals like the Waza Craft stuff. Note, everything I like from BOSS came out either this year, or fairly recently. I don't like much of their old stuff, especially those awful distortion boxes, bleh.

Hey Ryan, nice vids man. I was wondering what the advantage of a power source like the one you have there is versus my cheap 1Spot that I plug into the wall. I've been trying to improve my pedalboard lately , so any light you could shed on this would be really helpful. thanks!

@mattdyck99318 жыл бұрын
Could you explain your placement of the SmartGate in your FX chain? I'm not using an isolated power supply, so my gain pedals introduce a lot of extra noise (compared to when they run battery), so for me it seems necessary to put it afterwards.

Before a distortion and in the front of the amp if you want a gain boost. For a volume boost you need to put it after it and in the fx loop.

Hey Fluff, I've been playing on a Fender Mustang combo amp with all kinds of effects programmed in, but now I'm getting ready to start making my own pedal board and all that jazz. My dilemma is picking between a Big Muff Pi or a Tube Screamer as my first pedal. I'm using an old Kasino amp and it probably isn't the best but it's all I got. I want to have that classic heavy metal sound but I don't want playing knew stuff with more of that chugging sound to be a problem... any suggestions???
@vformarallo9 жыл бұрын
If your amp can get enough distortion to play heavy metal, then the tube screamer might be a good options, if it doesnt then you need a distortion pedal like an ehx metal muff i think? It achieves classic metal easily, but really you have to watch by yourself, there are way too many options to recomend just a few, after all distortion is all personal taste. You might want to start with boss, ehx and mxr because they have many demos and are easier to find on stores, personally i use a Palmer Solid Metal. Good luck ;)

Hey Fluff, I have a question that needs urgent attention and I have no idea how to fix it. I've been living with my dad for the time being untill I finish secondary school and can go to college, thus living in my own place. The thing is I'm still here for aproximately 2 years and the house is really old and does not have a central heating system as well as it's poorly isolated if isolated at all. Since I live in The Netherlands, I live in a very damp, swampy and disharmonic climate and my guitars don't like that at all and need truss rod and bridge adjustments every 2 months to keep it from fret buzzing all the time. How can I deal with this for the time being untill I can move out of the house?

Does the MXR smart gate work better if you aren’t pushing your high gain amplifier with a clean boost/overdrive? I’ve had experience with two different rigs and the smart gate STILL lets in a metric fuckton of feedback and noise even with the settings dimed out on the gate. Is this user error or is this pedal not that great for high gain pushed with an overdrive/clean boost?
@thrasherfan96366 жыл бұрын
I shouldn’t neglect to say one rig was a Mesa half stack with a Fortin grind/33 in front with a guitar equipped with EMGs, and the other rig was a Marshall dsl40 with a tc electronic analog 50$ OD with a guitar equipped with P90s.
