👆 GFI System Cabzeus Mono Cab Simulator Pedal - tinyurl.com/y5grro42
All the way from Indonesia, GFI System has established itself as one of the most innovative pedal companies around. Their Cabzeus Mono pedal is a powerful addition to their lineup; essentially a more streamlined version of the full-sized Cabzeus stompbox.
Compact enough to fit on most pedalboards, this flexible speaker cab simulator and D.I. box gives you access to 12 convincing cab algorithms. If you want to abandon your cumbersome cab and make your pedalboard the hub for your guitar tones, this unit makes that possible. Just team it up with your favourite drive or preamp pedal and you'll get a realistic sound no matter what, with Cabzeus Mono's balanced line out making it easy to connect to a PA system or recording interface.

Just a heads up to anyone else interested, this is algorithmic and doesn’t use IRs. Was one click away from buying this and decided to have a quick read on their website, and found that neither of the Cabzeus pedals use or support IRs. Some false information in this video so I just thought I’d share.

I have try the Two Notes CAB M and it supports IR and does the job very well (with amp simulator, cab simulator + 2 mics and reverb) or 2 IRs at the same time

This is awesome. I'm definitely getting one for home as well as some sweet "preamp/amp-in-a-box" pedals. I typically shied away from those sort of pedals because they seemed false, but with something like this it makes total sense. This is a game-changer for someone like me.

This is exactly how you approach a pedal platform amp. I have the Eric Gales DV Mark 250 with its matching 150 watt neo cab. And in front a Maxon 808, a Maxon Analogue Delay, and a VOX wah, optional T Rex compressor. Job done. Weighs about 30 lbs for the lot. In fact I can carry all this in one trip - shoulder bag for amp pedals and wires, speaker cab in one hand, guitar in the other. You could go to a central town job on public transport and loud enough for any venue.

It's honestly the perfect solution for a bedroom/apartment player. I'm running a mooer preamp pedal into an eq, then delay/reverb into a 50 watt PA. Sounds amazing at lov low volumes without pissing anyone off, and still gets loud enough that i could if i wanted to. I've been trying to pass that around as an alternative to the bedroom amps into 112 cabs because sometimes you can't turn it up enough to get the speaker moving properly. Low watt PA with multiple small hifi speakers solves that problem. And it translates fairly accurately to larger PA systems as well for gigging

My 1990 Mesa Boogie Quad preamp and 295 poweramp will most likely be in seperate rack at some point. The total weight and 1 rack would make it more heavy and less transport friendly. I stick now to 2x12 1922/1936 Marshall cabinets still it is simple and the Quad sounds great on recording outputs straight to mixer or recording gear. Still 20 tubes to serve you Mesa Boogie tone!

The "fakes" might not beat the sound and feel of standing next to a real amp, but they can certainly compete with an amp that you need to mic for stage or recording. I doubt many real amplifiers being sold 5 years from now. With a "fake" you do not have to choose between a Marshal or a Fender anymore either, you have both - plus the Mesa, Orange, VOX... And not to forget: A bigger chance of avoiding tinnitus!

Please understand next: Your overhead mics are hypercardioid and they are directed to you both. Also they stay under the ceiling and they are pretty far away from each other. They don't represent how you hear those studio monitors with your ears. Guitarists commonly use this misconception of having room mic like a representative of how it sounds in the room. It's far from what you hear by your ears. Plus in your case it's not even a room mic. It's differently placed and directed overhead mics.
@InspiretoVictory
@InspiretoVictory 5 жыл бұрын
Aren't they recording direct, though? The overhead mics are just meant to capture dialogue. What we're hearing Rabea play is going directly to pc. It's not going through the studio monitors and then being recorded by the overhead mics. So we should be hearing, pretty much, the same thing they're hearing.

Not really, no. Definitely a cool option that affords a lot of flexibility, especially if you already have pedals you like, but I don't see how it can get any simpler than the Axe-FX/Kemper/Helix/etc. One guitar cable, one power cable, one output cable (2 for stereo) and one box of goodness...plug it in and go. Adding a foot controller to the Axe-FX or Kemper would "complicate" things a bit more but you also get MIDI functionality with those that you don't get in the same way with this pedalboard setup. I don't know why anyone would do this over one of the modellers but hey...either way, it's good to have options! :-D
