The Ibanez Tubescreamer needs no introduction, it’s a pedal that has cemented itself with an incredible legacy and it continues to inspire musicians to this day. The Tubescreamer however, has come a long way from its original iteration. Over the years Ibanez has released versions of the Tubescreamer with different tweaks, features and modes while still retaining what makes it legendary. Some time ago, Ibanez asked Nick and I for some input on what would become their newest Tubescreamer, that day is finally here, and we’re happy to show you the Ibanez “Nu Tubescreamer!”
This video was shot by Juan Alderete, Nick Reinhart, and edited by Scott Ward for Vato Negro Productions.

Dude, the way you unplugged that cable and just threw it to the floor was possibly the single coolest thing I’ve seen on YT.

Suggestion... it seems you guys always like the effects you demo or are able to find something good. How about a video compilation of effects that either of you just didn’t like? Maybe follow up with a retake to see if you changed your feelings or figured out how to make them sound better.

Rob Flax even with the mix knob cutting the low end, it doesn’t sound thin. There’s still some beef there. It would work well for like the White Stripes or TØP to get that crunchy lead bass sound.

Juan, is that going to be a signature Warwick bass, or what that something you had them make for you for the MM tour? I like the contours. Sounds killer with the vintage Seymour Duncan pups. I saw that out of the corner of my eye when Nick was doing his review, and I thought, Hmmmm. That looks interesting. And I would love it if you did a rundown of your pedal board for the MM tour. Thanks!

See I never liked the original tube screamer, I picked up the Nu-tube screamer and absolutely love it! I also gain stack it with a Zakk Wylde overdrive to. It adds a different dimension altogether. And I run it on the 18v all the time.

If you left it plugged in and turned on non-stop 24 hours a day. No one is doing that. Even if you played for eight hours every single day no excuses it would still last at least ten years.

Say you played guitar for an AVERAGE of 4 hours a day. That should take into account the days you don't touch a guitar or the days that you just play all day. It would take a little over 20 years to reach 30,000 hours.

Just a heads-up for anyone else who watches this: It takes Wayne and Garth 6 minutes to offer any actual guitar sound for you to judge anything by. Lotta spoken noise prior to that.
