At 10:00 I believe there's a Thomas quote for this. I believe it is "little engines can do big things."

I accidentally bought an N scale Thomas when I meant to get the HO version, but it’s so cool and so expensive I don’t plan on returning it. I plan to get some N scale track to give this tiny Thomas with a spin!

Yeah tho I once did the opposite 😂 I was meant to buy a HO one I accidentally bought a G scale one 😂 . No wonder the damm box was so bloody big . I sent him back and got the proper HO one on the end but it was still paint full to realise 😂 tho cool . I couldn’t run him tho And nowadays I have N scale and have a Tomix thomas . So on my life o have had all 3 forms of Thomas . Tho oh well😂😂😂 I love James and Percy so I hope to get them both in n scale to join soon 😊

Great video and layout. You have given them a lovely home.

For the coupling rods and dcc, in my opinion it comes down to where you have to make compromises to make the models due to their size in N scale.

Great video, thank you for the guide on DCC fitting them, as per my post on the N gauge Facebook page it was extremely helpful! I'm sure I'm not alone in being awestruck by your layout, I've had a look through your other videos and its truly spectacular. I would love to see a tour perhaps of the whole layout? I'm particularly interested to see how your token system works and how it operates for running sessions, a video covering these would be fascinating if you had the time, but no pressure!

Nice review! I look forward to another review of the newer rolling stock from Sodor and James when he is finally released!

I'm alright with the wheels and rods due to the scale. My only nitpick is Thomas should be scaled up, or Annie and Clarabelle, be scaled down. As to me the proportion of them together somehow doesn't look right.

Lovely review, definitey improved my opinions on the models with that sort of pulling power. Lovely layout by the way, have you any more videos of it? Thomas and Percy look right at home on it, especially in the countryside areas.

HEY! I'm 13 and I remember the model series and the RWS. You don't need to be older than 14 to remember the classics. Also, the dislikes are from the HO models.

Great review. Im thinking of getting these. I have the Tomix reissue of Thomas, and just fitted a TCS Z2 decoder in it. I think I'd do the same with these.

Ohh cool I would recommend removing the front couplers on the Thomas and Percy so they look better when running from the front view

I'm honestly impressed with Bachmann N scale thomas ranged despite the criticism they've received from some modllers. My main concerned though is price at $139.99 in Trainworld which is the same as Bachmann HO/OO starter set I've been umder the impression that N scale should be slightly cheaper then HO. Though considering how small engine are. My only hope is Bachmann will continue to release more engines and rolling stocks in N scale.

Now I work within the model railway industry I can't ethically go and make review videos of competitors products but I can do a showcase at some point.

Thomas next to a 9v Battery speaks to a global audience (my free tip for the day). I'll be keeping a very close eye on this video as i build my case against Google and the damage that's been done to my KZbin channel by the KZbin Kids video appeals. I can't even get a review video like this to be seen as a video made for a general audience. In fact I lose every appeal now, even putting swear words or adult themes into video doesn't stop a video from becoming KZbin Kids. All I know is once a video becomes KZbin Kids it's completely dead in the water and totally worthless. The whole environment seems to only work if a video is aimed at children under 4 years old. This nightmare is a total train wreck and incredibly destructive in so many ways.

Great video with some fun editing. However, I must take disagree with some of the conclusions. The rods and wheels look awful. The rods may be small (though I'm not convinced on that point) but they are way out of proportion! Could we have a wheels to wheels comparison shot, comparing them with the current Farish Jinty and with the Dapol Terrier please? There are arguments for making them oversized but you don't make them and I'm not convinced it's necessary. Similarly, the wheels on the two models I've mentioned are much better than on these! If they'd made the chassis more realistic then I think that they could have increased sales, maybe by up to 10%, to scale modellers and the 009 market etc. I'm sure Bachmann had much more freedom with the chassis than the body. Lastly, a request. Could you tell me the wheelbase of Percy, in mm, please?
@PedanticmongrelsRailwayChannel4 жыл бұрын
For comparison: Thomas - Rod thickness 1.7mm, Wheel Diameter 7.8mm, Jinty - Rod thickness 1.1mm, Wheel diameter 9.5mm, I don't think 0.6mm is a huge hardship to make a model more robust, However I guess it's only a matter of time before a 3rd part makes finer rods that can be substituted. As for Percy's wheelbase, the battery ran out in my digital callipers before I had a chance to get that measurement, have ordered a new battery but may be a week or so given the christmas postal delays. Thanks for watching.
