the key to the chip thing is that you don't offer your opponent a glass of water after he eats it so that he coughs and chokes on it and shit cos their throat will be dry. then you just raise your arm in the air and walk away

So I assume that the rule of thumb is to never keep your feet flat while in someone’s guard ? Interesting
@cake11593 жыл бұрын
Nope, the rule of thumb is to have them flat when in guard (or dead toes) you do this to keep a wider and stable base. The hip bump sweep is a good counter to this action. The guy with the dead toes should realise this is happening and get his toes active or drive into the guys guard to preemptively stop the hip bump. The rule of thumb is dead toes when sitting in guard, active toes when passing.
@SPATCHZILLA3 жыл бұрын
Absolutely, this is something I had to constantly tell myself to do when beginning training. Keep my toes up and pressure in always. However, even with the feet up going side to side and persisting with the hip bump sweep should yield a sweep as well even with the toes up. (still works for me)
@kyles59973 жыл бұрын
@@SPATCHZILLA can’t say how much I appreciate all of the detailed explanation from real practitioners . Thank u
@cake11593 жыл бұрын
@@SPATCHZILLA well shit, maybe I stand corrected lol. So if you're sitting in guard do you just sit on your heels with your toes pressing into the mat?
@SPATCHZILLA3 жыл бұрын
@@cake1159 this works for us, if you're the person in guard you don't want to be there for long and being on your toes will help you control your base and eventually stand up to pass.
