For many years in the mid and late 1960's he performed as "Jose Gonzalez Gonzalez" at the Los Angeles County Fair in Pomona on the Mexican Village Stage. As a kid my parents would always make sure to take us and my Gramma to the free performances on that stage every September. As "Jose" he would do comedy, dancing, singing and play tunes on the bottles or frying pans. He always had his autographed photos available for only one penny and 99 cents tax. He did multiple shows a day there and it wasn't uncommon for us to see the show more than once in a day. The Fair eventually changed the name of the stage to Plaza de Las Americas but all of us locals still refer to it as the Mexican Village. I wish I could find video footage of one of those shows.

I met Pedro Gonzalez Gonzalez in the 1980's in San Antonio, Tx. I was playing with a conjunto band and Pedro was there in the club with friends. He sat with us and was very friendly and making us laugh. It was an honor to have meet him, he is making the Lord laugh now.

Pedro Gonzalez-Gonzalez was a treasure. He passed away recently. His grandson is a kick-butt actor too.

Amazing how youtube can bring events of the past to fruition of the present. Just love Pedro and never would have known about him unless there was youtube. A very gifted comedian of a natural inclination

Met Pedro in the early 70's at a Rex Allen Days celebration in Wilcox, AZ. He was a riot and just "on" all the time.

Pedro Gonzalez-Gonzalez "Spanish Flea on Pots and Pans" was the first record my mom ever bought for me. It's burned into my brain, in a good way.

My friends and I saw him on that "You Bet Your Life" episode and we fell out laughing. We NEVER forgot him. Didn't realize until many years later that he was a professional actor.

During the Groucho Marx show, Pedro, I believe, was not a professional actor. He certainly entertained many people in San Antonio, but was not 'HOLLYWOOD' until J. Wayne put him in films.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE his accent. He sounds SOOOOO cute. He's very attractive (in his younger days). The ways he moves his legs are so cool. He seems so innocent on this reel.

Pedro Gonzales-Gonzales wasn't an actor until Duke Wayne saw him on the Groucho Marx show, and told the director of The High and the Mighty, William Wellman, to cast him in the picture. Pedro Gonzales-Gonzales says this himself in one of the things about The High and the Mighty on the restored DVD.

I'm glad his appearance on Groucho's show launched his movie career, but he was much more brilliant as a comedian.

In the late forties and early fifties, he appeared as a comedian in vaudeville at the Zaragoza and Nacional theatres in San Antonio, TX. He didn't know then, he would meet Groucho Marx and hit the big time.
