Never in my life have I ever heard that saying before. Yes, they were lucky. I was like 4... T.T glad I could see this recorded and posted up here but man- it would have been cooler to go. I was at this show down at the second stage, somewhere in the back. I remember I was down there to catch Motorhead but caught these guys in the process. I ended up missing most of Megadeth on the main stage, but seeing SOAD and the especially amazing Motorhead show was worth it (sorry Dave - still love ya).

This is GREAT!! I saw them on this tour (in Hartford), and they were my FAVORITE 'NEW' BAND at the time. I had just NEVER heard anything that... COMPLETELY CAPTIVATED ME like SOAD did then. There's only a handful of bands that have/had that effect on me, like they made me feel, idk, NEW(?).... When I first heard them, I bought the TAPE or CD. I can't remember which, and I played it INCESSANTLY! Over and over again! They gave me HOPE or something, and I think part of it was because I was REALLY REALLY into techno/house/breaks, etc and the 'New England/NYC rave scene' (I mean I dressed in REALLY big jeans, Polo shirts, bead bracelets, had stretched ears, 8-guage peirced labret and tongue and went to at least 1-3 'parties' or clubs a week, stayed up all night dancing and taking ecstasy {not MOLLY; we used to take PRESSED PILLS back then WAAAY more than molly: it just wasn't 'around' like it is today) anyway, I digress....essentially what I'm saying is that I WAS A RAVER! (And if YOU were one, TOO, especially at that time, then you might KNOW what I'm talking about), and most of, probably 75% of the music I was listening to was ELECTRONIC during those 4-5 'formative' years between the ages of 16/17-21/22 years-old soooooooo... for a 'rock band' to GRAB ME like System did was TRULY saying something!!! I mean, my musical interests basically REVOLVED around the genres I would hear at all the RAVES I was hitting up every week, but THIS BAND broke my 'trance' (f**k it! Pun INTENDED!LOL!) I was IN LOVE! ENRAPTURED, ENTHRALLED!!...HYPNOTIZED!😋 MESMERIZED!😜 I couldn't find merch because the tour hadn't come to CT yet, so I went to this clothing store near my house where they made 'custom t-shirts' using 'sublimation', picked out an orange colored t-shirt, gave them a scanned picture of SOAD'S FIRST album cover (the hand), paid them like $15-20, picked up my shirt and wore it to a rave called MAGNIFICENT that weekend in HARTFORD, CT, saw System at Ozzfest that summer at 12 noon (piss drunk... As you DO at 1145 or so on Saturdays when you're 18) at the Meadows Music Theater, got my ass kicked in the pit and....... went to a rave THAT NIGHT a couple towns over! .....ahhhhhhhhh, to BE YOUNG AGAIN!😮‍💨🤗
