Also to add...cardio and dynamic bone/tendon strength is much more useful in martial arts than rippling muscles. Muscles take up oxygen...combat sports training is all about conditioning, sparring, shadow work, dynamic strength etc...NOT lifting heavy weights. Great points on this video 👍 I really hope more young folk follow this kind of advice to help focus and enjoy their training. Kudos.

Hello! I have recently found this channel and love a lot of the content. The way the techniques work different planes of motion, the fluid movements and how they are not soley focused on strength but often incorporate a lot of stability and flexibility are incredibly interesting and something I would love to learn more about. I have picked up heavy club training from watching mark wildman and I see a lot of overlapse in training philosophy between his and your channel. Implement the hanuman baithak into my training is a game changer and like a puzzle piece I didn't know I was missing. Absolutely love it! Please keep going with this channel, personally I would love to see and learn more of these practical and maybe unknown (in the west) techniques. All the Best!

Exactly, that’s the tragedy of our industry which is scattered and does not know what Exercise Science is, they just think what they know is supreme. In Strength & Conditioning, there are levels of exercise which are incorporated into your workout for a specific purpose. For example, Specific Preparatory Exercises (SPE) focus on strengthening the muscles which are majorly used in that sport and another is Specific Developmental Exercise (SDE) which focuses on improving the Sports specific movement (planes, axis, force vector etc used to determine that) and this exercise is an example of that which a lot of general population trainers fail to understand. BTW, the same exercise can be performed using a cable or functional trainer which changes the resistance direction as the hand moves accordingly.

Bro, show some respect for bodybuilders. Competing as a professional bodybuilder isn't everyone's cup of tea. If you don't understand what I mean, try it. Bolna asaan hai bro, tayyari karke stage pe perform karne tak ka safar aasaan nahin hai. Like every sport, bodybuilding demands a lot of sacrifice and discipline. The people you are referring to are actually keyboard warriors who've never stepped inside a ring or stepped on a bodybuilding stage. Real bodybuilders will never make such stupid comments.

@@gethulked101 Yes, but as compared to martial arts and combat sports it's indeed even less than a cakewalk and yes bodybuilders are like broiler chicken, and as a proof to this are the conditions of majority of bodybuilders at old age. This is very unhealthy. If bodybuilding is to be considered as a sport then it should be natural bodybuilding , without intake of steroids, anabolics and what not, then it could be considered to be a sport like it used to be in ancient times.

Great channel. Kushti, mastiyuddha, and mallayuddha are basically foundational grappling-striking martial arts, in other words ancient MMA (remember that ancient mud wrestling included palm strikes and submissions). These combat sports (yes, there were full fledged combat athletes even thousands of years back, amateur to pro)...and just by basic knowledge of human settlement, these martial arts are even earlier than Pankration. The only ones older would be found in Africa and Central Asia, not the current Western world or even East Asia. Again, human settlement patterns will show the oldest martial arts. As to your other point, your absolutely right. Gym folk who seek aesthetics need to stop thinking they're fighters. And combat athletes, even rank amateurs, need to stop worrying about how ripped they look. If you want to be a martial artist, be a martial artist. If you want to be a bodybuilder, be a bodybuilder. Don't confuse the two.

One of the most relevant "fitness","workout","exercise"(or anything you want to call it) specific video I have ever watched on KZbin. Started my journey in fitness to get fit and a chiseled body as I was overweight. By the half way I realised I loved lifting heavy weights more than getting a low fat percentage body. I was ok with having a little belly but I wanted huge arms, chest insane power and strength. I was ready to sacrifice a little bit condition for strength. Now after 4 years into fitness people ask where's my six packs at, lifting weights for nothing. Unknown to them I can lift their body weight like a paper weight and play around with it😂. People shall never know different goals require different training approaches.

Well said bro.. preparing our body for posing competition needs certain exercises and food decipline. After that he must neutralise the intaken ingested contents in the body, if body is not neutralised, so many have paralised and lost their lives..So there is a healthy way of maitaining body, from what we have (food). For what we work( profession). We must learn what we Exactly need till we die.. extra glamor or any diet gives extra feed backs. I hope I didn't confuse and disturb to comments 🎉🎉

I remember there was a time when indians use to mock yoga and meditation saying that it is non sense and old traditions which don't work. Why? because there western foreign idols were not doing it. Now when a lot of foreigners in west are adopting yoga and meditation because they have discovered its benefits, same indians are now taking pride in it. The only thing which hasn't changed is that they weren't doing it then and they aren't doing it now either. These people only have mouth to speak (repeat) whatever they hear. I can guarantee same is going to happen in this case as well.

Forms of exercises used by wrestlers are very very effective . The Indian style wrestling exercises are very productive. Both for muscle growth, endurance and strength. People who are into bodybuilding can add up some isolation exercises and more repetitions in one set for better muscle defenations.
