Great mod. I still can’t believe they don’t beef up the transom more from factory. Thanks for actually showing it in action as opposed to in the garage like most do.

Just finished doing this modification to my 10e. Honestly is so cool how you used the original handle holes and didn’t have to screw or drill anything into the boat. Had to make a few adjustments and make some holes bigger but in the end it came out amazing. Great work!!!

Good Job,, A Thought For This , IF, You Were doing this build and Went ahead with a small compartment say a battery box or dry storage it would take all the flex out when the box was decked , a place to mount lights ,or whatever as well , I'm on a build Mission now , I do fish in the river here so the trolling motor needs some help when I'm moving from one location to another, I'm looking at all ideas before I start this project, this has definite possibility ,I know for sure the outboard is a must for me , I Catfish alot , our water systems are free flowing no locks or dams , always a current to be found in them Depends On the water levels and that's all mother nature controlled , anyway ,Good Video gave me a idea or two

Good, real, DIY. How has it held up? I need some reinforcement for my 10e also. I'm probably going to move my trolling battery to the front to even the weight out. Thinking about affixing a length of 1/4" stock bar across the bows to let the outboard push that too.

When you transport the boat, do you take the outboard off and lay it on its side, or leave it on the transom?
@maxcastfishing4357
@maxcastfishing4357 3 жыл бұрын
That's a very good question. I did originally make a motor-toter transom saver for transport, but decided not to use it given the motor is light enough to take on and off. I decided to transport the motor in my vehicle instead of leaving on the boat. All the best!

Just curious when you go fishing, do you travel with your motor on the boat, or do you take it off? Also, if you travel with it on the boat do you use a extension transom saver, or do you strap it down with the motor completely down or in a tilted position?
@maxcastfishing4357
@maxcastfishing4357 4 жыл бұрын
Darren Crofford this is a very good question. I do not keep the motor on the boat when traveling on the road. This setup tends to bounce pretty easy with road bumps and I think the added weight would damage these plastic boat transoms. With the new transom reinforcement, I have considered leaving the motor on with short trips where I know I won’t go faster than 55mph and the road bumps are minimal, but I’m still just not sure I will. I was working on a transoms saver/motor-toter but haven’t finished it. I too was wondering what would be best; having the shaft straight down or angled. I think it would be better to have the motor tilted up some to place some of the weight over the top of the transom. For now, I think I’ll just take it on and off. I have transported the motor in the floorboard of the boat (centered over the trailer axles) with it strapped down for a 2 hour road trip and it road nice. All the best!

Have any other Pelican Bass Raider 10e owners had a problem with water accumulation in between the hull layers?
