When you transport the boat, do you take the outboard off and lay it on its side, or leave it on the transom?
@maxcastfishing43573 жыл бұрын

Just curious when you go fishing, do you travel with your motor on the boat, or do you take it off? Also, if you travel with it on the boat do you use a extension transom saver, or do you strap it down with the motor completely down or in a tilted position?
@maxcastfishing43574 жыл бұрын
Darren Crofford this is a very good question. I do not keep the motor on the boat when traveling on the road. This setup tends to bounce pretty easy with road bumps and I think the added weight would damage these plastic boat transoms. With the new transom reinforcement, I have considered leaving the motor on with short trips where I know I won’t go faster than 55mph and the road bumps are minimal, but I’m still just not sure I will. I was working on a transoms saver/motor-toter but haven’t finished it. I too was wondering what would be best; having the shaft straight down or angled. I think it would be better to have the motor tilted up some to place some of the weight over the top of the transom. For now, I think I’ll just take it on and off. I have transported the motor in the floorboard of the boat (centered over the trailer axles) with it strapped down for a 2 hour road trip and it road nice. All the best!
