I feel fortunate to have had my 2 children over here in France. Around the same time my Sisters were having theirs in the States. Under the Universal Health System, we are prescribed 10 appointments with a Mid-wife or Kinesiologist of our choice for Pelvic Floor rehab. It's much, much more than standard Kegel exercises. I learned how to isolate each of the areas and hold them for 10-25 seconds. Kind of like a slow suction, tightening from the pelvis up to the bellybutton! While lying on back, knees bent. My abs got a workout too! I showed my sisters how to do them, because they didn't have this opportunity and even now in our 60s, we still do them! I remember that our Mom had to have the Prolapse operation when she was in her 50s or 60s. She had 4 births, one of them twins. It's a shame that new Moms aren't given this Pelvic Floor info nor the opportunity to get it strengthened. Or maybe nowadays they are... Al.
