Thank you for this. I'm just recently acknowledging that the pelvic floor engagement is not a death grip bicep type squeeze. This practice helps me visualize, and use my breath in a suka manner rather than muscle death. The idea of the hammock brings awareness. Thank you for this workshop 😊🐶🦋

I just finished the full session and found it VERY helpful. I've been going to a physical therapy clinic that has therapists who do pelvic floor work. Yet, I cycled through several therapists, over a year and a half, but nobody suggested pelvic floor. Finally, I was ready to quit and look elsewhere when I saw a brochure and asked. That exam was the first time in that year and a half that I felt that anyone had actually gotten at the source of my right side pain (even though I kept saying that it feels like it comes from deep within). Diagnosis: overtightened Levator ani. I've been doing yoga for 50 yrs, so I know about moolabongas (sp?). Even the yoga sessions for the hips and for the spine I've been doing haven't helped quite enough. I'm hopeful that this one will. THANK YOU, ADRIENE!

I stared daily ywa this past Jan.7th. Two weeks ago I had to take a break due to a surgery. Am back! I’ll roll out the mat daily again and do what I can. Today’s practice was written for me it seems as I’ve been working on pelvic floor in my own way since surgery. It’s great to have a guide like Adrienne yet to feel flexible with my home practice. Thanks!

Adriene, just wanted to share how helpful this video was for me. I have a history of sexual trauma and never realized how much this impacted my pelvic floor and lack of sensation in that area. This video, while I struggled with the movement (a lot) made me feel sensation I haven’t in many years. I am overwhelmed with gratitude and had to share that this video changed my life. I feel like I found a missing puzzle piece to my healing. Thank you endlessly.

Still not sure I quite mastered the art of engaging the pelvic floor but my goodness Adriene is better at explaining things than any person, doctor, therapist I've ever come in contact with!! Using our hands to picture the pelvic floor is the way I can finally understand it! So while I don't have it mastered, I at least know what I'm picturing in future practice!

Hi Adriene. Thanks for your videos, I have improved a lot with your lessons. This particular video was hard for me, the volume was too low and I got lost lots of times when you were talking in between the poses. For me was a bit too much talk. Maybe it's just my computer that has a very poor sound system (for sure) but maybe the mic has something to contribute to it. It's not the first time I can only hear you when your head is almost touching the ground. Keep the nice work. I appreciate the touch you give to the lessons, it has helped me to show up on the mat every day.

It's unfortunate that as a culture we have this problem with addressing the functions of the lower body, especially elimination. I could feel myself becoming a little kid again and feeling like I should giggle and be embarrassed when you talked about holding in pee and gas. I really appreciate you putting yourself out there, Adriene, so that we can all talk about this really powerful and interesting part of our bodies! I don't know if anyone has ever done or seen one of those science for kids experiments where they model the lung using balloons and a big pop bottle, but I found the image you gave us of the diamond and the two triangles clicked when I imagined that the diamond was like the rubber diaphragm stretched out across the bottom of the pop bottle, and I was using my mind like a pair of fingers to pull it up from the point in the middle of the diamond between both triangles. It gave me one spot to think about instead of two, which helped when things started moving really quickly during the breath of fire practice at the end. Here's a video of the experiment I'm talking about for anyone who isn't familiar with it already: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fmeVqId8btt-hrM Thanks for an awesome video and practice, Adriene! Namaste

Hi Adriene! I appreciate all you free content- thank you! I've enjoyed following along with your videos. I was a little confused on the first pose (seated twist) in this video, tho. I was taught that the diaphragm and pelvic floor work in healthy harmony when the pf is relaxed on the inhale as the diaphragm moves downward , and vice versa. This way you avoid creating a pressure chamber on the organs in the lower torso. Can you explain your method so I can understand?
