Loved the subtle introduction of Kay and his little brother on the road. This is one of the things I love about this game - the chance to watch (fictional) history being made.

I love the d20 roll-under mechanic (always have, it's so simple and straight forward), and seeing how the character personality traits are scored and allow you to randomly determine your character's emotional/psychological responses is wonderful. Lynelle's Merciful vs. Hateful contested roll WITHIN THE CHARACTER'S PSYCHE was wild! Always happy to see Jo on Chaosium actual plays! One of my favorite personalities in the space, she always brings the accents and compelling characterization, and I adore Lynelle - 100% Stabulous (Hate Picts Passion!!!!) And something else I appreciate about Josephine's playstyle is that she's an incredibly active listener, always invested in what the other characters are doing. It really helps build enthusiasm for the audience. Also really happy to see Todd! He's one of my favorite performances on Picard, and he had to stand among luminaries. Love the portrayal of Evrain here! (I'm going to pen a feeble poem!!! LOVE IS A MANY SPLENDORED THING!!!) My first introductions to Surena and KP, and I'm smitten! I am smote. Usterius stole the show! The accent was phenomenal and drew me into the character and the setting, and his fish-out-of-water charm was a delight. Watching him navigate early Medieval high etiquette was a highlight for me Temura's youthful curiosity and enthusiasm brought a wonderful sense of vibrancy to the session. But mixed in there was a sort of timeless connection to the land that gives her an ethereal quality. Of all the knights, Temura strikes me as the truest of heart, and I can't wait to see how that informs their adventure. And of course, Mark - this is the first time I've seen him run a game, and I love his style - not just the descriptions, but how he weaves the players' intent and ideas into the story. Love the NPC characterization as well, and the air of mystery he weaves over characters like Morgaine. Bravo/a, all - I'm eager for more (and now I need to figure out how to slot a new Chaosium game into my schedule)

Loving how Mark is weaving epic moments and encounters with the canon characters together while explaining rules at the same time. Dame Temura crashing through the ice would have been a scene worthy of being included on a trailer. Sir Asterius' culture shock is very understandable, coming from the height of the imperial power on the sunny Mediterranean, where Second Rome has not fallen. Sir Evrain's preening and preoccupation with his lady (unbeknowst to her) and Dame Lynette's intense energy are quite entertaining, too. (One very very very minor nitpick: Holy Roman Empire won't be around until 800 when Charlemagne gets crowned (or 962 for Otto I, if you prefer that date). The Byzantine Empire is simply the Roman Empire or the Eastern Roman Empire.)

assuming its a broadsword I think they were pretty damn heavy yet in films you see swordfights using these with lots of blows and IIRC thats just bs - maybe 1 or 2 hits possible

@@skyblazeeterno A traditional English long sword weighs about 3 pounds, or 1.5 kilograms. That's not nothing, but it's still light enough that someone in good shape can move it pretty freely. Wouldn't be good for much if people couldn't fight with them :).
