I've enjoyed the 'Steam of Chaos' games for awhile and I am so happy to see this for Runequest. I really hope you six will do this some more, you all were enjoyable and engaging to watch, it was great.

I would like to ref a Runequest game again, it's been a minute since I last did a game. Actually 32 years yet feels like yesterday the games were so fun! Newer shiny game are always compared to RQ, I should just play RQ.

To those that have played RQ a fair bit, are strike ranks worth it? I know the GM had to teach the rules here but it feels like this adds a lot of time to combat encounters and I can see it being a bit of a slog

Spoilers ahead: Overall I have to say I was disappointed with the selection of the adventure. First, what I liked: I really loved the high engagement of the players and the GM'ing itself was good. The audio was good and this really did feel like a get-your-toes-wet for new players. Now, the part I didn't care for: RuneQuest bills itself as a mythological Bronze-age like fantasy RPG of high adventure. But what is delivered by the selected adventure? Our epic adventurers awake in what is pretty recognizably a quaint medieval village and quickly encounter anthropomorphic ducks just before battle breaks out with --and I'm not making this up --the Gingerbread Man. An event that logically and understandable attracts...dinosaurs. What? What?!?!? I had had enough when the dinosaurs showed up. Please, if we are going to showcase a great game with an epic adventure evocative of the Odyssey and the myths of the ancient world, consider picking a different adventure hook. It's not all bad here, but I really honestly don't think this is the best place to launch. Is Apple Lane, durrels, and dinosaurs all part of the Glorantha setting? Of course. But I just wouldn't use ducks, gingerbread men, and dinosaurs to introduce the setting. Thanks.

What a group! They seem so much into playing their characters it's amazing. But please, Mr. GM: "Orlanth is the Bringer of Light"? He's one of the original Lightbringer Questers, where they brought back Yelm (who IS the true Lightbringer as he's the Sun God) but from what I know Orlanth doesn't bring any light, he brings storms and such.

If you'd bothered looking, you'd see that there are pronouns for both the player as well as their character, since sometimes the character being played is different from that of the player. But, you know, heaven forbid we do even the slightest to assist others.
