In other news, ocean levels off the eastern coast of Australia have suddenly started dropping rapidly, almost as if a previously unknown drain had been unstopped. Experts believe that a well-worn black hat found in the vicinity is possibly connected to the incident.

Those toads are the bane of our lives... introduced species that are killing the native frogs and more...
@oldladywithcats206 Жыл бұрын
@Sue Ladybird am not aware of them eating frogs, but I do know they eat bugs. There are various types of toads, so maybe there are some that do. Not sure they are a "bain" of our lives though. Think the Bain of our lives is in Washington DC
@sueladybird6923 Жыл бұрын
@@oldladywithcats206 hi l am in Australia and that toad looked an awful lot like a cane toad, which have completely changed our natural habitats. They are poisonous to most amphibians but effect other species as well if they get eaten... it was one of the worst decisions ever made by our government to allow their introduction. 🤗

Gavin needs an upgrade with the locator tool so he can mark the problem spots.
@LighthawkTenchi Жыл бұрын
It does give him the distance from the screen(give or take a bit), and if he’s like other tradesmen, he’s fairly adept at walking the distance out and getting close to it. For example, I’m an electrician, and I’ve learned that if I take 3 average steps, that equates to about 7 feet(2-ish meters for the metric folks). After that it’s just keeping the same walk and counting steps, and I’m usually right where I need to be
@rupe53 Жыл бұрын
@@LighthawkTenchi ... yes, I'm sure we can all get a ballpark estimate that way, but when it comes to digging a hole of any depth (especially with pavement) I'd also want to know how far left or right. It would help to nail down a junction or bend that may be some distance from fixed point of reference. It's all a matter of how much time it might save and what your time is worth. In this business it could also be a good selling point because saved time = saved money when repairs are involved. With a slight increase is fee it could pay for itself in a few months.
