They do need to start grooming the next top center. Crosby's don't come down the pipeline very often to where he's plug and play at 18, so they got, at most, three years to figure it out.

I liked his press conference, he's very confident without being arrogant. Only like 3 weeks until camp, I can't wait. The absolute worst time of year is when the only sport is baseball, because I refuse to acknowledge the Pirates, I know better lol.

Im hoping mcgroarty pans out. I've seen many prospects that dont. Im hoping he becomes a consistent 20 goal scorer in the future. I dont think his skating is good enough to play with sid yet. I've heard mcgroarty being compared to kunitz with the way he plays but kunitz was a better skater. Now malkin could be a possibility. Mcgroarty's playmaking is good and he could help set up that malkin one timer. Im not a pirates fan either. Im a reds fan they're not any better
@Ando2k102 ай бұрын
Personally, I think that the only way that the Pirates will ever be truly competitive would be for someone like Fenway Sports Group to buy them. I don't know if baseball has a rule preventing an ownership group from own to MLB teams, but it would have to be a group like that...willing to spend money to win.
@christopherharte47412 ай бұрын
Yeah, after fenway got those championships, they stopped spending money on the Red Sox and spent it on Liverpool instead. Red Sox fans want them to sell to a group who wants to spend money. That's why Sox are a .500 team
@Alby10c2 ай бұрын
Nope. FSG only spends a little more than what they have to. It would be the slightest improvement. They’ve done a bad job with the Sox and even Liverpool
@Alby10c2 ай бұрын
@@christopherharte4741they stopped spending on Liverpool too. They’ve spent the least of all the big clubs by far. Like record low spending for them

If the Pens have some of their young defensemen take that next step, they could make Petterson and Graves expendable. St. Ivany, Shea, Ludvig, or even the new guys...Brunicke, Hollowell, or Kral

You guys are delusional. He will be put on the third line with Lars Eller. He’s not good enough to play top minutes. Drew O Connor or potentially Cody Glass will get those minutes.
@LockedOnPenguins2 ай бұрын
Eller may not even be on the team to start the season considering the logjam at forward. McGroarty will be given a shot to win that top line job, that’s not being delusional at all.
@JohnSmith-jb2jf2 ай бұрын
Nothing about Glass' career at the NHL level suggests he's top-six minutes calibre. Career 1.13 5v5 P/P60. No better than a defensively allocated fringe 4th liner. He only got the points he did cuz he got fed way more minutes and played on better lines than he deserved. DOC's ahead of McGroarty for sure. Puustinen TBD. It might only take 1 injury among the top-six wings for RM to move up, and he can play both sides. Last year there were 48 man-games-lost among top-six wings. Think you need to analyze the situation better before jumping to insults in the comments. Dubas likes to push for youth to play.

Hmmmm...ebullient smile, charismatic, cheerful, magnetic....Winnipeg fans, press all equally impressed and THEN. Jets mangement stood by him when he had serious injury this, offered him contract even before anyone knew if he would even make it to Junior World Championship. Anyhow victors write history, so TBD.

He was pc when talking about his "peg" experience, He has a boat load of confidence. I am very high on this kid. But many people keep over looking that he has zero pro experience. (Never pkayed 82 ganes un a season). Penciling him in on crosbys wings is a very optimistic view. If he is that guy, that's great. But If he is that good why didnt Winnipeg make room for him? I would trust doc, rak, bunting, beau, etc. Over him at this point on crosbys wing this season.
@LockedOnPenguins2 ай бұрын
He’s gonna have to go out and earn it but he’s definitely gonna be given a shot during camp imo.
