At first I had a bit of a boomer mentality about speed runs, like "what's the point of it, play and enjoy the game" but I now really appreciate the creativity that goes into speedrunning. It's astounding what they can do. Of course we should appreciate the craftsmanship in videogames but there's a lot of fun in breaking them too! I'd suggest maybe watching Htman Trilogy speed runs. Glitches are very rare to see through the runs, most of it is just ultra insane ways of using the mechanics of the game, which aren't glitches but sometimes they can feel that way with how crazy they are. Like the current Paris level strat, you drop a bomb, then use another bomb to blow the first one onto the roof of the building on the other side of the map to a precise point, when you blow it up it drops a chandelier on the targets head, counting as an "accidental" murder. That might be confusing not knowing the game, but each level (21 in total) are done in around 1 minute each so t's not bad to just check out a few levels

I think it's cool that people can beat a video game in a ridiculous amount of time, yeah, you're right, it's a video game all right. I feel like speedrunners don't look at the meaning behind the story, the impact that the video game is supposed to have on you whether it's a simple 8bit game, to a grand campaign game that the developers spent tons of money on to inspire the gamers who complete it. I really hope speedrunners play the game the way it's intended then they speedrun, cause then it reminds me that they want to speedrun through all their problems.

Lol no it’s not, granny shifting is when you just push the clutch in, shift to desired gear, and then release clutch. Whereas double clutching is when you clutch in, shift to neutral, clutch out, clutch back in, shift to desired gear and release clutch. Double clutching mainly allows you to downshift at higher RPM’s as well as not being as rough on your clutch. No hate intended in this comment btw. P.S that line is from one of the Fast and Furious movies.

Sad he didn't play it normally. I don't know what his chat was on to say its just "meh" nor did I understand why he thought IGN was a credible source for this game. Especially when you take into account their review of Alien Isolation. The game was definitely one of the best horror games in recent years. Its a shame that since he speedran it first playthrough because even if he tried playing it normally now, some of the tension would be gone because even though he doesn't have all the context, he already saw the monster and the ending, so some of the surprise would be gone.
