So how did he do it!?!? Lemme guess magicians code?
@ThisHorrorFilmDoesNotExist Жыл бұрын
@@kckirk1217 It's a trick that dates back to ancient Egypt (literally, the proverbial "oldest trick in the book"), attributed to an Egyptian magician named Dedi, described in a document known as the Westcar Papyrus, dating back to the 18th Century B.C. The trick involves folding the bird's head under its wing, and holding a fake bird's head in its place. The magician pulls the fake head off, giving the illusion that the animal has been decapitated, and then uses sleight of hand to make it look like the head has been restored while stashing the fake head in a sleeve or pocket. In the case of the head swapping, I'm not telling you, because that is a unique, newer aspect to the trick, and I'm going to respect Ali's privacy on that. But the Dedi decapitation trick is old enough, and well-documented enough, that I feel I can ethically spoil at least that much of the trick. I will at least tell you that the swapping part is simpler than it looks, but takes a gifted illusionist to make it convincing.

It's so obvious. First he uses sleight of hand to stuff both birds down his pants. The boxes are incubators, where he's making a new batch of birds with special colorations. That's why it takes a minute for him to do the prestige, the birds not only have to hatch but he's giving them time to grow. Otherwise it would be too obvious because they'd be too small when he pulls them out of the incubator.

from your answer the trick is to "dress" each as the other, but the chicken was on right and duck on left, so there was actual teleportation?! :P or did they also swap feet?!?! The birds aren't real, you can see how they do just a few simple motions, which is just mechanical. The birds at the end are real
@Annairea2 жыл бұрын
@@flamingpaper7751 the birds are real, the heads aren't. You can watch their feet and see they are moving as a real bird would if held by the wings. For example, check the goose again. You can see it is entirely real as the assistant pets it and it dodges her touch. It also had black markings around it's eyes, but when Cook puts the cloth over it, the markings are gone. This is slight of hand to tuck the goose's head under it's wing and put a taxidermy one through the cloth. The chicken never has its real head out, as it probably would have been too hard to tuck it live on stage but you can see from the feet that it is real. These birds are placed into the boxes which are segmented. The original birds, a white goose, and a black chicken, are placed into the bottom boxes, and switched out while the "surgery" is being performed. Once the final birds are revealed, if you check their feet again you will see that the "goose" is actually a white chicken with a black head, and the "chicken" is a black goose with a white head.
