If they ever do a final show I wanna hear Teller say one line at the end and that's it.

I’m pretty sure Penn’s reverse mullet will catch on any day now. “ a party in the front. All business in the back” Seems like it sums up their whole career

It's strange seeing such an unpolished version of their cigarette sleight of hand trick.

26:45 Has this copyrighted 1985 for Community Television of Southern California. Love how all the guys in the audience were wearing ties. Also note the telecaster in the last trick was a well groomed Penn. He had the signature red painted fingernail on the ring finger of his left hand. That was started as a tribute to his mother, who said, if he was going to perform magic, he should always have well manicured hands. He painted his fingernails and said, "You mean like this?" He has always had that one fingernail painted. After his mother passed, his daughter says he does it for her.

The audience laughs at really bizarre times during this. Penn is talking in detail about how to perform a complicated trick using absolutely no humour and the audience keeps laughing for some reason.
@tonypcoyle12 сағат бұрын
laugh tracks were commonly added in syndicated TV shows because execs believed that people needed to know it was funny (also they hated silence).

Great video! But this is not their first TV appearance as a double act. And in fact, as a trio, they appeared even much earlier (look it up, I'm not your historian...)

This is Pemn and Teller's first TV show.Prior to this they werent called such.
@SupernovaSymie2 жыл бұрын
@M.RileyJunior semantics really, but you're right. However, Penn and Teller had appeared on TV as a double act prior to this. Listen though, great video and I'm really glad it was posted 👍🏻👍🏻

Is a very old concept. Kind of like iconic representation of feelings that are universal. Something like that. Things all people can recognize the feeling it represents. I forget. lol
@ronthompson9292 жыл бұрын
@@ELVIS1975T Actually, he said, "a mean way." He was setting up getting Teller angry. He was picking on him, screwing with the cards, etc. That was the justification of Teller stabbing him with the knife.

well.....now i know why teller doesn't talk.
