@2020-p6y4 жыл бұрын
Yeah true he gives a logical reason for everything. There's like this thin line between following your desires, giving a reason to everything and between stopping yourself and realising this is not okay. So a thin line between being good and bad. I think we can all be him but some are really him because they follow their desires and some just respect and understand that is not okay. I guess due to his childhood he can't understand that thin line maybe? Cause he wasn't taught that way? He was taught in order to get rid of something you need to vanish it...literally... Maybe that's why most sociopaths are like that? They can't fully understand that difference. They know they should because society says you'll be judged if you did.. but it just doesn't sit in their heads that's why they think hiding it is better. Just like pedophiles they seem to not fully understand what the difference is between a women and a child. The media around us says women should have smooth skin, look younger etc.. At a young age some people can't understand that fully and all these media or society thoughts are implanted in their heads so when they look at the real world they notice that only kids look that way while adults actually don't. There was no one to explain that fully in their heads...they seem to have trouble understanding that. Something related with their brain function or the way they were raised or both together.

Should someone that is intellectually creative fall on difficult times and lose their drive to innovate, they will quickly find that the people who they thought cared about them will just disappear until they are inspired once more. The table next to him were two girls who I guess had been giggling the whole time no doubtedly recognizing him from gossip girl but they never said anything they leave and I guess one of the girls had left her hat behind. Penn walks over to me and asks me if I wanna be part of a prank with the girl's hat in hand I agree and he says "well when the girls come back for their hat send them over to my table" smiles and winks...he then proceeds to walk back to his table and puts on the girls hat and continues his Convo with a director type guy he was having dinner with.. The girls come back and see him wearing her hat through the window as she approaches to come back he then started like waving and laughing like did you forget something? There is also the fact that while people in America enjoy a fall from grace, we also love a comeback story. I always think of Mike Tyson. Idk how old you are but in the 80's he was praised for his boxing. In the 90's his popularity fell greatly. And in the 2000's he became a media darling. JayBee0212 He’s portrayed as a nice person? He stalks, and invades the privacy of the girl he’s delusionally obsessed with from the very first episode. He kills people with no remorse, because he believes he’s entitled to being with the object of his obsession, and they stand in his way. If you think gender doesn’t play a part in how he’s perceived, then ask yourself, if you’d still think describe him as nice, if his character was played by Kathy Bates. Oh wait, Kathy Bates did play a character like him in “Misery.” Don’t think there were thousands of people trying to minimise and justify * her * actions. Or the actions of Glenn Close’s character in „Fatal Attraction.” Male stalkers get romanticised, because we tend to be more forgiving of men doing horrific things in the name of “love.” When they do it, it’s “misguided, but kind of understandable.” When women do it, it’s just “deranged and insane.” When Joe kills the shitty people in Beck’s life, he’s fulfilling the societally approved drive of being protective. When Peach tries to control Beck’s life, fans’ response is to call her an annoying psycho. If you think there’s no gendered double standard here, you haven’t been paying attention.

In all seriousness. We look at *Joe* and we’re like “ugh I want someone like that.” And this doesn’t mean we want a killer, but someone who’s willing to discover every little thing about you and accept you no matter what your flaws may be. Granted, he might kill your best friend in the process so beware of that. But it just shows that WE as a society aren’t giving EACH OTHER enough attention and enough love, that we’re ready to accept anyone as long as that person is willing to commit to us. So let me ask you *reader* , are we narcissists for wanting someone like that, are we psychos, or plain simple romantics?

I can't stand Joe, but I love how he just explained how society will forgive people like him. Well. Freaking. Said.

Why?
@anozhwish75953 жыл бұрын
Society doesn't forgive people like him if u meant bc he's good looking and manipulative then that goes for everybody that doesn't look like him. Or looks like him yikes nowadays just look at articles and the news or big social media apps painting the idea that all psycho pathetic killers/mass killers are people like him when an reality it's very diverse in people

@@AdamWasHere He does, you probably didn't notice it. He doesn't smile much on the show, by reason of his character.

Why isn`t anyone talking about how Colbert completely ignored Penn when he was trying to shake his hand at the beginning of the video?? EDIT: I overlooked they already shook hands when Penn walked in. I was specifically talking about when they sat down and Penn expressed how honored he was to be on the show.
@randomness06964 жыл бұрын
He played it off so well though
@sebpadron174 жыл бұрын
I think it’s because they already shook hands when he first walked in lol
